I've had two children attend this school. one graduated and another currently enrolled. This school is awful. both children were bullied. faculty and counselors did little to nothing, gave generic advice, or worse: brushed it off/ignored it. My eldest whom graduated, as well as her friend, were bullied. The friend of my daughter shared how the counselor ignored her diagnosis of ADHD and simply stated she wouldn't amount to anything if she didn't change her habits. my eldest was physically assaulted a few times, and when finally defended herself, was suspended instead of the assaulter. My 11 year old has a disability of which select students took advantage of and bullied her mercilessly (for YEARS) to the point she's threatened her own life, lashed out negatively, made verbal threats towards the bullies, and is now suspended for most the school year. I filed a DASA report which was completely ignored and not followed up properly. The bullies come from rooted, popular, affluent families so they weren't held accountable, and instead the administration put all the blame on her. After my daughter satisfied all requirements, took responsibilities for her actions at the last meeting, and was sincerely interested in coming back and starting fresh, the administration still shot her down just to be vindictive. my daughter shows more accountability and maturity than the school administration. all the school does is go on the defensive and blames the victims. during the last meeting, the principle didn't say a word to us or even make eye contact with us. I don't know why. perhaps from guilt. we've reached outside to some other parents, as well as a few teachers, who've stated they've witnessed racism, bullying, anti LGBTQ+, and other issues that are always unaddressed and dropped. We've also reached out to Family Resource Network of Oneonta, whom also stated we are not the first to come to them with serious concerns about this school and it's administration. you'd think with a small student body, and yet a bloated budget, they would have the resources to deal with these and other issues, but no. This school doesn't deserve a cent of my tax dollars until they clean up their acts. perhaps legal action against this lackluster school would wake them up.

Used to be what I thought was a great school but lately I would beg the differ students are getting bullied everyday and it's just brushed off because of who they are , these kids fight back and they get the book thrown at them , students are vaping , piercing each other and doing much worse things in the bathrooms , skipping class all the time and pretty much doing as they please !

Many good teachers, held back by stiff curriculum, and stiffer administration. Low student morale, low athletic partipation, buses are horrible and chaotic, community won't pass plans to improve school , poor communication. A lot of p.r. yet they don't stand behind their mission statement. Big changes needed at this school

Except for a small group of uninformed vocal parents and union leadership bent on bringing back the lazy old days, this is a great school. Board is made up of disgruntled former teachers, If you were a poor teacher, how are you going to be a competent board member? A recipe for disaster. Great kids, staff and hard working administration.
