This school, for lack of a better term, is heck. There are fights weekly, much discrimination (especially against lgbt students) and the school has bad policies. If you get beat up, even if you don't fight back, you will get punished no questions asked. The best thing I can say about this school is that they at least have minor accommodations for mentally disabled people and the teachers try their best to try and teach the students, the majority of which will not pay attention. They really need to work on their help with people that have depression and anxiety because, frankly, a single poster in a busy hallway isn't going to do much. This goes for all schools in the district so, for the love of your child, do not send them here.

This school is horrible. Currently enrolled in 11th grade and have been here since 9th. School superintendents from the past were horrible. The teachers are alright, the staff is horrible and rude. Bullying is a major issue. Homophobia and sometimes even racism is current. School does nothing about it, being a victim of bullying, I've gone up to staff multiple times every year I've been here and nothing was ever done. They simply don't care. The kids who get support do drugs and sexual contacts. Fights happen all the time. It's better to homeschool then this.

Although the school has had a rocky past, it has seen amazing growth in the past 4 years alone including a new administration and new physical school. We now offer more AP courses, dual enrollment courses, extracurriculars, and other opportunities for students to explore and grow. Though focus is still mainly dedicated to football, many other sports and activities have been gaining ground and support--including our awesome High-Q team. Especially thanks to our Student Government Association, who is trying their best to start having events (pep rallies, for example) to show support for other sports.

If you have a child with autism DO NOT enroll them in this school! The Principal is not disabled child friendly. She will berate children and makes it very evident that she has no understanding or compassion for children with certain disabilities. Instead of having trained teachers that understand autism they will warehouse the child in an alternative program for violent students. Our Doctor advised us to remove our child from the school, that's how bad it is.

DCHS has been teetering between A and B ratings for the past few years (2014 and back), which is quite a turnaround from the C and D test ratings of the previous decade. The current school is outdated and lacking, but Dixie County is building a brand new high school soon so look for everything to improve.

The only people who get support are football players, last I heard still inappropriate relationships with student on student while on school grounds. Drugs and drinking heck yeah. I was considered a nerd was picked on endlessly and almost quit. If you can help it put your kid somewhere else.
