Our eldest spent only her 8th grade year here after covid lockdowns and it was well worth it. Even just a year had a huge impact on her high school preparation. We have 2 more kids enrolled in the beginning and lower school grades and couldn't be happier with the supportive, enriching environment.

Our daughter has been at Ashbrook for a year now. She absolutely loves it and so do we! The teachers are amazing and truly care about each child. We were very specific when looking for a school for our daughter. We wanted to make sure it was safe, had smaller class sizes, was secular and offered a second language at an early age. Ashbrook has it all and checked all of our boxes! We couldn't be happier!

We transferred from a local public school to Ashbrook this year. Such a big difference in every aspect. I feel all the students and parents' voices are heard by the school admins and teachers. Everyone is working hard to provide the best opportunities to students. Kids receive high quality of education and a lot of attentions from every teacher due to the small class size, which is very important after the pandemic time. The new head is very energtic and brings his vast experience with many famous priavate schools before. Regular school schedules from 8 to 3 almost everyday, various clubs and programs after school. And the tution is very affordable, only a third of those charged by private schools in big cities. I would highly recommend it.

My family has been with Ashbrook for 9 years now and it has been one of the best decisions we have made for our family. Not only do the teachers challenge my children, but they have nurtured them as well. They have fostered their curiosities and are willing to see how far they can go. Both my children are above grade level for math and science, and Ashbrook not only provided the opportunities for them to move up but the teachers actually reached out to us to ask if they could move up. The teachers and staff have become our partners and the families our little community. My kids not only enjoy the core subjects, but also love the arts program where they get to participate in art, drama, Pe, music, and foreign language on a regular basis. Additionally, communication and partnership with the school administration has been great. When communicating with them, we hear back within a day or two, and any questions or concerns are heard and addressed. They try to be as transparent as possible and communicate with families on a weekly basis. They also welcome feedback and have multiple opportunities for us to talk to them.We highly recommend Ashbrook for any family who wants a challenging and nurturing environment for their kids. We will certainly miss Ashbrook when our children graduate. Our children love this school dearly and as parents, we do, too.

We’ve been very pleased with our experience at Ashbrook. We’ve really enjoyed the attention to detail for each student, the amount of Extracurricular activities available to all the students, the foreign language diversity and the rounded education that our daughter has received at this school. Great school, great community

Ashbrook has been an excellent choice for our family. Our daughter has thrived in the smaller classroom setting. The art, theater, and music programs are outstanding. We appreciate the attention to supporting the whole student and building relationships among students in k-8, faculty, and families.

My middle school child has attended this school for many years and is quite happy and challenged academically. I think the tuition is well worth the money and is, in fact, a very good deal. The equivalent PK-8 school where we moved from costs twice as much. Ashbrook does a wonderful job of 'meeting kids where they are'. If you want to work ahead in Math and Science, this is the place! My student is learning to write well and give presentations which will come in handy in high school and college. All the teachers and staff are kind and committed to their work. The school was very organized during COVID and my child did not fall behind at all. The education since March 2020 both online and in person has been top notch. The school uses current technology enough to be useful but does not overly depend on it at the expense of human relationships. The head of school is wonderful and has such a depth and breadth of experience. Ashbrook families are diverse and treat each other well. I am happy to be in this community.

We chose this school for our son because of its focus on academic learning and drive to create independent and well prepared independent students. Our son has some learning disabilities and the small classroom format and dedication and love from the staff has been so helpful in his growth. He was not thriving at his other schools but at Ashbrook he has. He adores the school and so do we. Never before has he said that he liked and was good at school. But Ashbrook has change that, and everyday he goes to school excited and returns fulfilled. Some things that we love are the beautiful facilities, the focus on foreign languages (our son takes French every day), the amazing art and music classes and equipment, and the numerous opportunities for club engagement (math, robotics etc). Also Ashbrook's schedule fits our own parent full time work schedule very well. The aftercare program is outstanding and the staff excellent. I recommend this school to any parent.

My daughter has been at the school since Kindergarten and is about to graduate 8th grade. Everywhere she goes I receive complements from other adults about her maturity, vocabulary and kindness towards others. Of course I take some credit for that, but I believe Ashbrook nurtures children both academically but also on character.

We started in the Corvallis public school system, but we moved to Ashbrook a few years ago and have never looked back. Our son went from hating school to loving school, almost overnight. There was a time that we had to drag him to school and he was miserable there, finding the classroom environment both too tedious and too loud (we tried many times to engage the neighborhood school in making things better and though they were nice enough in meetings they couldn't or wouldn't help in a meaningful way). Since we've moved to Ashbrook, my son is eager to get out the door every morning to go to class-- he loves math, English, science, Chinese, art, music, gym, recess... really, everything!. He sees himself as a good student and sees learning and school as activities that are fun. We didn't really want to be a private school family, but we care that our son is happy and the difference for us since moving to Ashbrook has been like night and day.

As Ashbrook's recently hired Head of School, I recall doing my due diligence, as I considered applying for this job, and searching online reviews like Yelp, GreatSchools, and Niche, prior to tossing my hat in the ring. Now that I have been at Ashbrook for a few months, I revisited these reviews, and I am delighted to note that the positive qualities described herein and on other sites, have been confirmed by my experience. Having done this work for over 35 years, in the best schools in the DC area, in NYC, in the Boston Area, and in the Bay Area, I can say that Ashbrook is one of the finest early childhood, elementary, and middle school programs in the country. Our teachers are the most professional and passionate people I have ever had the honor of collaborating with. Our campus is one of the most beautiful and thoughtfully designed teaching/learning envoronments in the country. In an age when other schools are moved to cut arts programs, to do away with electives, or to not allow students to take advanced math and/or science courses, I am proud to say that, at Ashbrook, these options are not only alive and well, but remain definitive parts of the excellent student experience we provide. If you read a negative review here, I would appreciate a text or voice contact (here is my personal cell number: 5088260039, cschoberl@ashbrookschool…, or follow me on Instagram at AshbrookHoSDoc) and a chance to respond. More than regretting that we are not the right school for every child, it would break my heart to learn that you crossed Ashbrook off your list because of a negative review, without giving me an opportunity to share our perspective! Finally, the greatest endorsement I can offer Ashbrook is this: I wish my own children were not aged out! GO EXPLORERS!

I had several children enrolled at the school. We decided to go elsewhere when we learned that the "academic excellence" that they tout is untrue. If you like throwing your money away on a sub par education, then go ahead and send your child to this school.

Ashbrook is a great fit for our child. I appreciate the small classes, the collaborative / creative approach, the well-rounded curriculum and the responsiveness of the school leadership and board.

I can not say enough good things about his school! We have several children enrolled, from Pre-K to Middle School. Small classes, challenging curriculum, beautiful building, this school has it all!

We have been very happy with the experiences our children have had at Ashbrook. Every teacher has been willing to tailor their instruction and expectations to our children's strengths and have found individualized ways to build them up in areas they are struggling with. The small class sizes allow the teachers to notice each child's needs and respond to them. The art, music, foreign language and PE specialists are amazing and a wonderful asset to the school.

My daughter started in local public school. She was advanced and rather bored. That school didn't try to challenge her. I am so happy we discovered Ashbrook. She is thriving here! The amount of homework is right on par. I would recommend Ashbrook Independent School to anyone looking for a change.
