I am embarrassed to say I was born and raised in Pittsburgh after the disgusting show of disrespect shown on the field by YOUR students. They should no longer be allowed to represent your school in any way. I can not even fathom a superintendent having prior knowledge of this and condoning it. He should be terminated immediately. If your teachers supervisors etc... don't like the flag or the country then leave. It would be best for everyone.

Overall, the only benefit to this school is its small size. Which does allow a more family feel. But, the education is far from par!! The majority of graduates have to retake pre-college courses before they can start college. The graduates that DO go to college from here on average spend 5 to 6 years in college. It is because they have to make up for the pre-college classes not offered by this school or the poor quality of the education. I know first hand. Further more to many kids are marked "special needs" in this school. It is an obvious way for the school to reap more money from the state. BLUE Ribbon school happened ...BUT look at the scores before and after that.--you will be amazed how they ever hit Blue Ribbon status!!

I have two daughters in the "blue ribbon" elementary. One of my daughters is bored at school. I had her tested for gifted and she missed the mark by a few points. She is a straight A student who doesn't want to go to school because it's boring. I have loved this school until this year and this problem. This is causing my daughter and myself great distress. I am looking for other alternatives for next year. My suggestion is that if you have a gifted child look for a better school or one that is willing to help.
