Homewood is a wonderful school for my children. We've been enrolled here for over four years. Each year, administrators and staff have reached out to families to bond with, improve school functionality, and education standards. The staff are like our 'extended family'. My children are cared for like loving aunts and uncles:-) The principal is a phenomenal woman with a great sense of compassion and leadership!!!!

Homewood is a good school. Teachers are stressed but that's everywhere. Vice principal is approachable and listens. Principal is ok but not always easy to talk to. The staff does a lot for the school but I wish more parents supported Homewood.

My child attends this school and do love her teacher I've never had a problem and for the most part the teachers that I have met are great. I've read these reviews and I'm not crazy about having to move my child. I don't care what school you go to there will be issues and problems and I believe it takes team work on both ends of the playing board to fix those problems. I know as I was once a child and know first hand children can be mean but I do not think they mean to be. Television and society itself has made or children little adults instead of giving them a guiding hand. I do not blame our teachers for this site to our state has give them strict guidelines and have to cram studies on our children. As for the bullying by a teacher I personally have not seen any but think of that did in fact happen they should lose their job that is not acceptable nor should it be tolerated. Overall I love this school for my child she loves it fully and have had great teamwork from the staff there.

I am withdrawing both of of children from this school. I agree with the May 2011 post about the Principal and Assistant Principal.Since my children have gone to this school (2009), there have been several problems throughout the years. The teachers for the most part are great, but I get a sense of a "gag order" policy. Bullying is not dealt with appropriately. There is not a "NO TOLERANCE" policy enforced as stated in the policy. It is strictly selective enforcement, I believe they are trying to hide most of what's going in that school for fear of investigation. I would advise staying away from this school if you you do not what your child/children to be bullyed or exposed to inappropriate behaviors that are overlooked by this staff and school. I also agree with the May 2011 comment about the children being in fear of both principals. Just recently (last week) we had a issue with my daughter being bullied, this was the third time addressing this issue with the same student, we never received a report from the school and after I left the office my daughter was called back to the principals office and it was very intimidating to her. She was made to believe, it was her fault.

I have children that go there and they have attended since they were all in kindergarten. At first I was very pleased with the school and the teachers. The last few years I have been having some issues with staff members and the principal. It seems the staff moral is low and I am POSITIVE it is the principals fault. She needs to get off her high horse! Most days she is unapproachable when you have a concern or an issue and it is bad when one of my children have a problem and they are afraid to talk to her about it or the teacher in fear of getting told don't worry or something else along those lines. Also there is a front office staff member that is VERY rude most of the times I go in there to either get my child or to sign in for a function. If she is not going to be polite there is no need for her to be working the front desk with parents going in and out.
