If you are a person of color do nottt go to Kennett I’m a person of color and I’ve grown up in nh one of the times I dealt with racism in khs was this time I was walking to my next class and someone said damn minorities well I walked by racism is one of the biggest issues in the school mind you we have many administrators also don’t understand mutual respect

I can’t say enough terrible things about this place. It’s just awful, they don’t care about the students, they don’t care about anything. I have no fond memories of this place, I learned nothing academically, nearly flunked out, then went on to get a 3.9 gpa in college, it’s quite obvious the environment was the problem. They expect the worst of the students then their shocked when they misbehave, a self fulfilling prophecy as I always referred to it, treat the kids like their bad kids, have a school full of bad kids.Let’s not mince words, if you have the ability to send your child to a different school I beg of you to do so.

The school offers students many options for academics, the arts, and the technical center offers incredible programs. Students here excel on many levels, whether building a 'little' house with an area partnership with the local builders association to AP courses, community service clubs, internships, and much more. My kids have excelled and have opportunities to compete on the state and national level in areas of their interests. My son got into all of his high school choices. No school is perfect, but when there is a problem, at least they will try to address it. Eagle academy offers kids who struggle in day school a good option to finish school. AND don't rely on this site for test score info, to to the NHDOE site, score are much higher then reflected here.

Anyone checking these reviews should take in to account two things; firstly, there are both positive and negative feedback given for the Kennett MIDDLE school! Completely irrelevant to the ratings given, with the additional fact that numerous children from other middle schools within the district will attend the high school as well. The second part is that the Kennett High School has been relocated to a completely NEW school built recently in 2007 rendering reviews such as the one mentioning poor ventilation to be a thing of the past. The new facilities of the HIGH SCHOOL (not middle) include an extensive security camera system of the hallways, cafeteria, and parking lot to help discourage bullying and if an act does happen to occur, this event can be recalled upon using the feed and proper reprimand can be given. There is also at least one police officer on site always. Overall, anyone complaining of academic issues should be held accountable for their own grades considering the Kennett Staff provides ample teaching, material, and out of class support to those who want to succeed. How you go about your high school career relies solely on how YOU wish to hold your own head.
