My experience today was horrible! I have to check my child out early daily due to my daughter being released at the same time as she is disabled and is in a different school district and rides a bus home from port st John, while I get there the school is having a fire drill. so I had to wait for kids to return to class before the desk clerk could call him to the office when I go to leave, there are two lines going for people to pick up there kids when released one of the lines is formed inside the parking lot so I could not leave to get to my daughter I was stuck in the parking lot for 25 minutes as a single mom with no family I had to call the only person I know here to try to hurry to get to my child's bus as I am on the phone with the front office the women is telling me that there is nothing she can do that parents come early so this doesn't happen and I was early !! My daughter's bus had pulled over on the side of clearlake waiting for me to get there and was getting ready to leave when my friend got there.... What if there were a more serious emergency there is no way for anybody to drive out of there they need to figure something else out of make sure the parking lot is not being blocked!! The most rediculas thing I have seen with a schools dismissal!!!!they only got one star because I had to rate or it wouldn't let me post my review because I would not give no stars for that mess

One of the worst schools I have ever sent my children to.... DON'T pick this school. If you want your children to be at a F school and where they have no respect towards parents or children this is the place to be.....

The teachers at this school have to work several times harder as support at home regarding education is not strong. Many students come to school primarily to be fed, and discipline is an issue overall. With recent rezoning (two years ago when this school went from an A to a D) this school is now nearly 100% free or reduced which means almost all students are living in a poverty situation. A child with a generally stable home life can and will do well here as there are many programs available to help get children "up to speed," however many students that need it do not take advantage of it. There are great programs here. There have been three different principals in three years, as well as an entirely new front office and almost completely new teaching staff. Uniquely this school operates on a longer school-day schedule, as well as offers many after school and before school tutoring, enrichment and academic support programs. Teachers here want to help the students as a whole and need more support from the families to accomplish a higher school grade/standard. My children were enrolled and did well at this school, but again, they have a strong academic support system at home.

I live in Va., I have visited this school twice, because my grandchild "currently" is enrolled. This school is a Zoo! I was in the office for 2 hours. 8 to10 am. I saw more children come there late than I had ever seen in my life when my children were in elem. school. One child you could hear screaming over the walkies, whoever was on the other end was saying call the mother, call the mother!! The parents look like they had just pulled themselves out of bed, some even look like they were under the influence, standing there making up excuses as to why their poor child was late, again! The police make regular trips back and forth to the school. In just the two hours I was present, the police came because a student could not contain themselves or the staff could not handle the student. When I was leaving, a fire truck and an ambulance had arrived and someone came out strapped to the bed. Again, this is not my first time visiting this school. Oh, and the front office staff, they speak very sweetly, with a condescending tone. In Va. I have only seen the high school's having to call the police, not elem., schools. Thank God my grandchild is an honor student, but for how long?!
