Not well . They try to come off as the latest and greatest. Children at the school are very behind on math. And Urban just pushes them thru. No accountability for it. All about the money...

My experience at Urban was far from excellent. I am an eight grade student who will be graduating soon. I have attended Urban since I was 3. I had a truly wonderful experience until about third grade. The students became cruel and nasty. Not only were they nasty to each other but to the staff as well. The teachers do absolutely nothing and sometimes even agree with the students. If you are interested in your child learning filthy language, fighting skills and serious attitude problems this is the right place for your child. Honestly, the staff is a hit or miss. Some of my teachers have been very kind and I have a good relationship with, and some repeat the nasty behavior shown by students. On top of all of this, the education program is awful. I am in eight grade and learning seventh grade material. They basically use their students for statistics. They want you to believe that we are super advanced, however they teach advanced material without visiting things we should be learning.

UCS offers a wonderful and caring culture for students. This is our 5th year at the school and we have seen the school evolve positively in terms of academics and parental communications. My children are performing well academically, but above all have learned values of empathy, respect and compassion at UCS.

Never have I been more disappointed in a school, it's administrators or it's staff. UCS is a poorly run school that seems so thirsty for voucher fund that it allows ANY kind of riffraff to attend. My daughter has been bullied since fall, 2011 and the only thing I was told by administration was "If she is so unhappy, perhaps you should take her somewhere else." The leadership at the school is a disaster at best. Our family has been lied to about how the bullying was addressed and now my daughter has started cutting herself. Not to mention the ever-present foul language that comes out of the student's mouths directed at one another, teachers and volunteers. We left a suburban school to expose our children to Christian values and those are way on the backburner at UCS. Their brochures & newsletters may say they focus on imparting Christian values and superior education, but in short, they don t! There s an event at the school tonight. Come check out how poorly behaved the students are.
