I recently graduated from this school and I can say that I was not prepared for high school in the slightest way. When i did attend this school, we were almost always short on teachers and would have to get taught by the principal. It was more so we were teaching him and not him teaching us. Example: we had no math teacher and the principal came in to teach us, he wouldn't help us work through a problem due to the fact that he himself wasn't educated. So instead, he would google the answers and tell us to write the exact answer we saw online in our textbooks. This was a somewhat decent school until a new principal was hired. The principal Dr. CZ (Mario Clopton-zimlar) would almost always force his authority towards me and others in a way that wasn't professional or proper. The reviews that are on this page are from parents and people who work/worked at this school. Not one of these reviews are from a graduate or current student dealing or that has delt with this school and it's issues.

Excellent! We have loved our 8 years spent at TIS. I highly recommend sending your child here!

This was the perfect fit for my child. The multi-age classrooms were a great place for my child to thrive. My child connected with community mentors. They made learning fun for my child, and she really looked forward to going to school. It was great as a working mother to know my child was at a great place.

TIS is the best!! The teachers and staff are very friendly and everyone seems to work together to insure that students LEARN. The smaller classroom structure, provides so much individual attention and help. Parent participation is a requirement, children are encourage to read half an hour each night, plus visits to nearby Nursing Homes, teaches students to respect Seniors and to be more compassionate. Dr.Whitehouse is a sincere and dedicated principal, that loves her students and wants them to succeed!
