We transferred to Skycrest from our wonderful local public school with a hope that the curriculum would be even more engaging and challenging. This was unfortunately not the case. Math is at least 2 years behind our child's previous curriculum and reading is not much better. We were sold on the afterschool programs in Math and English and it was explained that students can drop in for enrichment and to get ahead. That turned out to not be the case at all, these programs are for students that are behind where they should be and offer no additional learning beyond the already slow and below standard curriculum. There's a reason why Skycrest is below the district and state testing levels.Unrelated to academics, the school security guard passed out necklaces he made to our child and several of the kids in the lunch room and they all had a very large razor sharp fish hook tied to them and they were wearing them around their necks...I was shocked when I saw it and even more dumbfounded that this was provided by the school. If you're looking to teach your child the bible then they've got that covered, for anything beyond that, like your child getting an education in core studies and the ability to be successful in high school and beyond, I'd look elsewhere.

We recently moved from a private school in Safety Harbor that our girls had attended for over six years. It was with much apprehension that we made the change. We were very connected with the parents and friends however the school administration had dramatically shifted. The school became toxic. Starting at Skycrest has been a relief not only for us as parents but for our girls. Experiencing the positive re-enforcement to lift and encourage engagement in the classroom, transparency on weekly expectations of our students, availability to engage and support classroom events, administration being accessible and supportive. Programs offered at the school allow them to explore many different interests and passions. Support teachers are engaged and make learning easier and fun.I feel like our kids love school again!! I pick them up and they are happy and lifted. They tell me how caring their teachers are. We should have moved years ago! This has been a loving and nurturing change. I finally feel alignment to pave a path for our kids future.

Our child started kindergarten at Skycrest this year and has had an incredible experience. It has been everything we had hoped for her and more!

Skycrest is exceptional. We had 2 daughters who both attended Skycrest for several years and we could not have been more pleased with the quality of education, exceptional faculty, and preparation for high school. While the school's location and appearance is less than attractive from a curb appeal, inside the hallways and classrooms is what truly matters. Leadership with Mr. Clagg and Mr. Miller is top notch, and it carries through at all levels of the school. Our daughters thrived at Skycrest and they deeply enjoyed their experience there - it overly prepared them (in a good way) for what was to come in high school.

Skycrest Christian School has to be among the best schools in the country. It starts with the leadership at the top and filters all the way down. The management is great. The teachers are great and the students are respectful. When the pandemic hit, Skycrest did not miss a beat. The virtual teaching / learning was up and running immediately. The school opened back up immediately in the fall of 2020 but gave the students the option to remain at home and learn virtually if they wanted / needed to. I cannot say enough great things about Skycrest Christian School. It is the BEST decision by far that I have ever made regarding my child's emotional, educational, and spiritual well being. God Bless Skycrest Christian School.

The best decision I made for my children and the family is to move my kids to Skycrest. The school is phenomenal and my kids are excelling. They are testing at 2-3 grade levels higher in math and English on a national level. I’m extremely grateful I moved them here when I did.

Choosing Skycrest has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our child is excelling academically, spiritually, and musically. Skycrest Christian will find your child's gift and build it. I am so grateful for the teachers, administration, and staff at Skycrest. Most teachers have been here for years; new teachers begin when teachers retire or when a new unit is added. This speaks volumes about the caliber of respect and community of this school.

We transferred to this school last year (2021) and we are a scholarship family. We transferred, even though we were happy with our public elementary school, and right away the problem started when I received an extremely high bill from the school I was not expecting. When I questioned them about the bill, they reminded me it was in the piece of paper they handed me a year and a half ago when I was on a tour, so I paid the bill and asked if there were any other fees associated and they said no, yet unexpected fees were issued every month. The second challenge that arose was my oldest daughter struggling with her curriculum. She went from having the highest GPA at her previous school to being persecuted for not having her work done, and her locker being a mess. She was briefly told a run down of the school and homework, and right away I started receiving notices that her homework and classwork were not complete when she was new and still needed someone to explain this to her. She was not used to having an IPad to check assignments every night. Rather than help her understand it, I was sent emails every night about how my daughter is not turning in assignments, having her locker a mess and showing her no grace and persecuting her. Recently we attended a band performance at a high school football game where they were playing, and had to stop due to weather conditions. It was chaotic, disorganized and I was called by another parent, not the teacher, about where to find my child. The teacher was not with her when I finally found her, nor was I called by the teacher. We are barely a month into school and I am ready to transfer to another school. The homework and parental responsibility for parents at this school is beyond manageable, unless you have a parent that is able to dedicate hours of homework every night. This has been an absolute nightmare for our family and I wouldn't recommend this academy to anyone. I am writing my story because I noticed that they do not have many reviews and my experience, along with many others, is that this school can be very hard working for American families and children. To much pressure on families

This school has it all! Skycrest has supportive administration, caring teachers, a rigorous curriculum, and a God-centered environment. Skycrest cares about the WHOLE child- academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Skycrest finds a gift in each child, academically, athletically, artistically, musically, etc. The teachers at this school are experienced, some just retiring after 40 years at Skycrest. This school prepares children for high school, but also lets the kids be KIDS with recess, field day, dress-down days, Spirit Week, fantastic field trips, and more. There is student support for students who need extra help and a variety of electives and after-school clubs. We could not be happier with our child at Skycrest and look forward to the 2022-2023 school year! If you are considering checking out Skycrest Christian- DO IT!

Skycrest Christian is an answer to our prayers! The teachers are wonderful, the staff is amazing, and the administration truly care about each student and their families. It is truly a one of a kind school. I rest peaceful a night knowing that my kids are receiving the best Christian education in the Bay Area.

Skycrest is a rigorous academic school with compassionate educators who emphasize the importance of a Christian worldview. I'm so thankful to be part of the Skycrest family; it's the best investment we’ve made for our three children.

As a mommy, I have been a part of Skycrest for almost 7 years. After 2 years of volunteering, I realized how much I loved the school and wanted to be more than a parent but part of the Skycrest staff family. This will be my 5th year at Skycrest as the Media Specialist and I could not be happier with my career change. This school has been a blessing to my family on multiple levels. My kids have loved every teacher they have had a Skycrest and still have relationships with all of them as they have moved on to different grades. Achedimically, SCS is top-notch, our music program is outstanding and many sports to choose from. If you are looking for a school with God at the center of it all, this is the school for you.

There are many things in life that parents can do for their children. For us an education is priority and a foundation for their future. A solid Christian environment for us was key. Finding Skycrest that July of 2016 changed our lives for the better. In 2018 our oldest son graduated from 8th grade and this year 2022 our youngest son graduated from 8th grade. We are forever grateful for the amazing teachers, the unconditional staff, the Godly ministry provided, the retreats, the field trips & the A Class education curriculum. Thank you Skycrest for allowing our sons to grow in joy. We will forever be thankful. We encourage every parent to join a school that is just much more… We are Skyhawks, We are family.

All CategoriesRating 5 out of 5 We moved our kids over to Skycrest Christian School from public school this year and have been very happy. We only wish we had made this move earlier on in our kids' educational journey. Our boys are taught by teachers who love Jesus and the curriculum is engaging. There are so many after school activities to be involved with to further connect and promote relationships amongst the students. We love the culture of the school and are grateful to be a Skyhawk family.

Unless your child is a completely obeying, blindly following orders, willing to be trained like a dog kind of person don't send them to Skycrest. They don't appreciate intelligence, curiosity, personality, don't encourage creativity. They can't comprehend that could fly with a 4th grader will no longer fly with a 7th grader. They also disregard their own rules. Also, that vibe about Christians being better than everybody else was disturbing (even though we are obviously Christians as well). There are some wonderful teachers and there are some that should be kept far away from children by all means. Academically- average.

This school has always had my child's heart, mind and soul at the center of its attention. I am so grateful that this school knows what it means to grow from your mistakes, open doors to new learning opportunities and how to set my child up for success not just academically but as a world citizen with compassion and understanding for others. We started in preschool never thinking we would be there for all of our elementary and middle school years. But here we are 11 years later and still loving it. It isn't always easy, raising children is tough no matter where your kids go but knowing the support we have here makes it the best choice for us.
