Our son’s third grade class is in a modular building where they don’t even have individual desks and the heat went out during a school day in the winter. The permanent substitute does not communicate at all with parents. We are moving to get out of this school.

I have three kids went through the school and a fourth starting in K this coming school year. All the teachers has been great and very responsive when you contacted them and they deal with bullying quickly. The only thing I wish they do is push the kids more. Some kids preform well under pressure and can learn things a year or two above their grade level.

My child is starting her third year at Stonewall, and I have never once had an issue that wasn't dealt wiTh quickly and effectively. The teachers are great at communicating with parents, setting up quarterly evaluations with families, and keeping us informed daily of how our child ia doing wiTh their homework and behaving in the classroom. They've also been very through with security, and have even called me to confirm my child's bus schedule/pick up/drop off parties.

I have been having the same experiences as most parents writing reviews here, first off my oldest child is special needs and he was bullied and tormented his first 2 years at stonewall, plus their were few programs to help him learn, i have since pulled him and he is home schooled. my other child is having a hard time with her teacher this year, who is mean and yells at her, puts her out and tells her things that lowers her self esteem. she is now refusing an gets terribly upset when getting read for school in the mornings. I also agree with the front office staff, they are completely RUDE and very UNPROFESSIONAL. looks like I will be placing my kids in a different school next year!!!!!

Stonewall is an outstanding school. We moved from another local school and were thrilled that our kids could attend SES. Everyone is kind and caring, from the principal and assistant principal to the teachers and office staff. Thank you to all the hardworking staff here!

It really disturbs me to read negative comments about the teaching staff at Stonewall. Our school is full of caring, hard-working adults who put in countless hours beyond the regular work day. Teachers spend a great deal of their own money to do things in the classroom for their students and spend a great deal of their personal time in the evenings and weekends creating lesson plans, prepping materials for children to learn, and taking classes to increase their skills. Teaching is very stressful due to a greater and greater requirements put on teachers. PLEASE support your child's teacher at Stonewall because he/she needs your support AND appreciation for all he/she does. I came from the business world before going into teaching, and I have never worked with more dedicated, competent people than I have since coming to Stonewall. It is very easy to cast stones at teachers and to criticize. But unless you have walked in the shoes of a teacher, you have no idea how difficult it is. We do our job because we love and care about your children. Plain and simple.

I have had 3 children go to the this school and LOVE IT!! My oldest went all 6 years (K-5th) and I have become friends with all the teachers he had. My middle child has done very well and my youngest is now enjoying it. I have not volunteered with the PTO and they are trying to have more events in the 2013-2014 school year than previously. I would base my judgement on your own experiences rather than just the reviews.

This is the worst school. There is NO diversity and diversity isn't welcomed there - there are many bully's. The principal does not care and keeps to himself. The front office staff is rude and usually do not bother to get up from their desk to greet visitors. Calls to administration do not get responses. The PTO is absent and even if you try to volunteer - you won't be welcomed - they don't want parents to see what goes on in the school. Aids that yell at students and poor academics. There are a few good teachers but I am sure they will leave. My child's first day of kindergarten was a horrible experience because she had afternoon kindergarten and she wasn't welcomed (or parents) and kids were lined up against the wall like it was boot camp. I felt so bad for her. Maybe if more parents complain - there will be change.

My children have been enrolled here for three years. I have had nothing but problems out of teachers who lie and don't do their jobs. No one in the office writes your child's absent days down. Everyone is always rude. The principle and asst. principle takes days to call you back then has very little communication back for you. Horrible school over all. My children will be enrolled in another school next year or home schooled before I let them go back to stonewall.
