I felt forced to remove my son out of this school zone. This was our first year and my son is second grade. I feel like the teachers and principal do not care about all of their students. The Special Education department is the worst that I’ve dealt with in this school system. It took two and half weeks before someone reached out to me when I left a message to speak with someone. Having a meeting with them and the principal is pointless as they do nothing to help with your concerns for your child. Things go in one ear and out the other. I reached out to the principal and it took a week for her to respond and the only reason I feel that she responded is because I mentioned to the teacher the disappointment in not receiving a call back. Once the Principal did return the call, it was the night before my child’s last day as to which she stated that she won’t be at school that day anyway, so there was no point for a conversation then. My child’s class had two new students to join the class after Christmas break, and there were not enough cubbies now in the class so my child was bumped out of a cubby had to start putting his things in the corner on the floor. The only child having to do so. They simply do not care at this school and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to send their child there especially with an IEP.

Moved to the area because of the schools rating, have been here two years now and still not impressed. The teachers think they have an idea of you because the color of your skin. Kindergarten year the teacher reported we didn’t live in the district and the board sent someone to my home to check. No conversation with me or my husband before hand, also again this is kindergarten year so we had just registered him with documentation. When I spoke with the school they couldn’t give me a reason why they thought this. The only reasoning could be black peaple in their 20s can’t afford to stay in a half a million dollar neighborhood. Was very offended and never received a valid reason to this or an apology. To go into education my son’s reading, math, spelling and grammar skills were at a first and second grade levels before coming to the school. His doctors wanted us to have him pushed up a grade but we decided to let him get the feel of school first. All of kindergarten still above (95% or 100%) above TN average. His teacher would have notes in his folder of how bad he is, how he talks etc. This school is like a jail and no real focus to children who are just board because they finish work quickly or know the answers to questions. They can’t talk at lunch they can’t talk in class or hallways. It just wasn’t giving an elementary school to us. First grade no better, this teacher is rude and has no communication with parents. I send notes with no answers, I can with no answers. We have only had one teachers conference for the whole year and it was quick and simple no time to actually learn what’s going on with your child’s education.

This school seemed to judge parents very harshly and preemptively . They for some reason assumed we were poor . They treated me and my brother who helped me care for my nonverbal autistic child like we weren’t good enough for my child to attend school there . They tried to make it seem like my child’s issues with not wanting to go to school at any cost was neglect on our part when it was a huge safety issue. He would physically fight and scream for hours about getting dressed for school or walking out the front door for school. We would have to carry him naked to the car wrapped in a blanket on the days he didn’t hurt us too bad in trying . He would get out of his car seat to try and grab the steering wheel to turn the car around , and then he would back up and flinch everytime an aid from the classroom would come to get him from the front office . They would stare in the front office with dirty looks the whole time and constantly misjudge us and thought we were just neglectful and poor which could not be further from the truth . I hired two people in two years to drive him to school thinking he had separation anxiety and they both quit within 3 months because he did the same thing to them as he did to us . I explained this to the school over and over and they didn’t care they just cared about their attendance numbers and my child was just another number on a spreadsheet . If you don’t tick all their boxes or if they think you don’t have money then you don’t belong there . I never gave them any indication I was poor or low income I always sent him with his own lunch , he rarely wore the same thing twice , and we always tried to donate to the class whenever we could . They treated us like we needed charity . I’ve never been treated like that before and anyone who actually knows me knows I’m not poor so the only explanation would be their presumptions and assumptions. I don’t trust them and this school used to be highly rated but it’s run by some really uptight people who need to start caring about children more than their need to make it seem like an uptight highest standard boarding school for the most prestige and wealthy families .

Moved specifically to the area because this school is well rated. People who have children who went to this school years ago had a very different version of the current school. The school is over crowded. Too many kids, not enough teachers. The bus situation is a complete mess and the school's zero tolerance for violence doesn't actually exist. Kids get into fights. Older kids threaten younger kids. Education wise some of the teachers have clearly given up. When a child needs extra help there is none to be had. Work that has been turned in is marked as missing. There is little to no communication from the teachers when a child is falling behind and as I said before there is no help offered to get them back on track.

Writing again. As first review didn't seem to take. My son attended here a few years ago. He was in 2nd grade. It started when a teacher called out in class his lunch account was negative $2.65. I brought it up and received nothing but problems. Daily remarks in log saying "focusing problems". 6 suspensions and for things like tapping a pencil on desk. We didn't have these problems in Sumner County. Since then the records for Sumner County have been removed from file. Makes it look like this was always a problem. Punishment was high there. This was escalated all the way up and School Board said too late in year to address. I do not recommend this school at all. He was pulled out of his class which resulted in red marks on his wrists. We left asap. Since then some schools wait to see his true demeanor but some judge immediately. This is not race related. Could be income perception related.

Best school ever. My kid would come home telling every bit of the school day he had and had a smile on his face. teachers are nice as well.

This school is an absolute A+. I purchased a home in the area soly because of this school and I will do it again. My children are engaged by their teachers and the entire academic team. There are excellent enrichment programs before and after school as well and they are free.

The teachers and administration at Rossview were an answer to our prayers. I am glad I serve and worship a God who still answers prayers!

We've had a lovely experience at Rossview Elementary. Staff and Teachers are amazing. The school's design is so intriguing and my son felt like he was walking into a children's museum. I could go all day talking how great this school is!

Academically Rossview Elementary is a great school and the teachers are great. The school is better than most schools we looked at prior to moving to Clarksville-Montgomery county. These are things that I believe the school (education board) should improve upon. 1. Student to teacher ratio is still too high. Either reduce class sizes or allow for teacher assistants.2. More extracurricular activities for all grades (especially k-2).3. More STEM activities/clubs.3.

Wonderful school!! My child has been at Rossview for 4 years and each one has exceeded our expectations. The teachers truly care and the administration does a great job! The school itself is bright, clean and beautiful. We are truly thankful to be zoned for Rossview!

Rossview is a good school for academics. It lacks in everything else. I have liked the teachers we have had, but I don't agree with recess being taken away as punishment, or the kids not being able to talk during lunch, as these are the only free times for students. I also don't like how extra activities are only for 3-5 graders, and that most of those are try out activities even though they are not competitive teams. Art, music, and athletics should be offered to all students who show an interest. After all, 8-10 year olds are still learning. Running club is offered to all 3-5 graders and the total kids who want to participate are split into two semesters. This way they all get a chance to join. I believe the other clubs at school should be the same. I also think k-2 should be offered something. In society today parents have their kids in extra curriculars as young as 18 months. Not all parents can afford those activities so something offered through school would be great. Rossview does have high parent support so it would be possible. Overall, it's a good school, but not great

My daughter learned so much from going to Rossview, academically and socially. The teachers are very efficient and I know they work extra hard because of the information they give to us parents - homework packets, summer packets, children-made books, resources, etc. My child would come home with treats and rewards that I know the teachers bought with their own money. She even received a card over the summer. The administrators care for the students too. Not only that I am confident that my child is receiving great education, I also have no worries when my child is at school.

First and foremost I will say this, my children are both A/B students, have attended for three years and the school academically is great. Here is what I don't like...if you want to send your kids to a penitentiary everyday where all they care about is a TCAP test to guarantee funding, then it is great. They also believe in group punishment and will punish the whole class if one is out of line...by taking recess. My kids will sometimes go a week without recess for a slew of reasons; recess is constantly threatened. Kids cannot touch the walls without being disciplined, cannot go outside if there has been an inkling of rain in fear of tracking in "mud". I am happy to leave and not look back, so are my kids. For the most part, the teachers are great and they care; however, the principle is set in her ways and turns a blind eye to parental input. So, if you want your kids to go to a school for strictly good grades, then Rossview is great. If you want to deprive your kids of their happy childhood school days then Rossview is also great.

The only reason I didn't give Rossview 5 stars is because they are experiencing over crowding, which is not their fault. Dispite that, the staff is great, I found both secretaries to be professional, the teachers really care about the kids, the school is kept clean, they have a wonderful art program, music program...I really feel fortunate that my daughter has gone to K and 1st grade here, she has had a very nice experience. I also like that even at the kindergarten level, they teach the kids about bulling and encourage them not to behave that way towards each other.

The secretary is rude to military families. I pulled the kids out after one long, frustrating year. As the face of the school, and the person who gets to decide whom you speak to next, you would think that they'd stick someone personable in that job. I'm so glad that I never have to deal with her again, and that she won't be able to sneer at my husband in his uniform anymore.

My daughter attends kindergarten here! Her teacher Mrs. Williams is great. My daughter tells me everyday how much she loves her teacher and her friends (including specialty teachers like p.e. & music). They have a lot of nice things to offer the kids for learning. The building is really nice and the office & staff have been great on any encounter I had. I like the awards they do because my daughter works hard not to mark stars or get in trouble and I think it is good for the kids! Also one of my daughters friends in her class learns sign language and because of this my daughter even bemefits she knows her colors, alphabet and some key words! Honestly, I hope her friend is in a class with her every year because I think that is an amazing learning experience! I don't think I could be more pleased then I'am now! Gladly looking forward to the next 4 years at this school. The way it is zoned right now were zoned for northeast middle and high after rossview elementary and Im not to excited about that; if the zoning don't change by the time she is in middle school I will be moving to keep my daughter in all of the Rossview Schools! I think this school is wonderful in every way!
