It was the worst ever. I as a parent have been counting down to summer break more than I ever have in my life including when I was a student

This school needs to be looked at and monitored closely. If this school ranks 4/10, it's because they have set very low standards for this school which is usually done where there's a high number of low income children. I urge parents to go into the schools to observe for themselves. If you don't have children that attend, try volunteering 1 or more days a week. Most of the children need some guidance and extra help. I agree with the last commenter, most of the children do not get the support that they need from the parents or guardians. But I still feel a child should have homework at least 3 days out of a week. I suggest 5 days but at least some times. Never should never be acceptable. Once again, I'm the grandparent residing in another county. But if it were up to me, the child wouldn't be at Burt.

The school needs more funding and assistance to deal with the students that are having more behavioral issues. The students can be very unruly and there is not much the teachers can do about it.

Horrible. If the school is going to do the same as most parents(turn their head) then kids will continue to grow up rude and mean! Uneducated as well............ Their anti bullying is a crock of lies....they don't do much of anything when your child gets bullied and physically assaulted. Teachers are some what bullies themselves, calling the kids names such as Sassy Pants and making them cry...... Great School.......NOT

Most Teachers and staff do not communicate with each other so while one may be aware of a situation with a child others that they work with are not. Medication that is required is not given on a consistent basis. Bullying is a huge concern in this school. Some of the words and terms that my son comes home saying are being said to him are appalling! Over all not a good school at all.

My children have attended three schools since arriving in Clarksville 2 years ago. First was Rossview; then they changed the zone to Oakland. We moved to a larger place and was told we had the option of Rossview and Burt/St.B's. Come to my surprise; Rossview was NOT an option when I had to sign up the kids for school. I was livid but signed them up for Burt. Needless to say, this school is one of the worst my children have ever attended. Not just with academics, but mainly with the BULLYING and lack of supervision. My son had to change classes because one child kept hitting and threatening to kill him; plus much more. Now that my son has changed classes, his current teacher does little to nothing to stop the bullying. For kids that defend themselves, they are also reprimanded and have in-school or primary suspension. My daughter is also bullied and comes home in tears most days. I would not even consider going to any of the teachers. The principle that is there currently is doing well. It is her first year and has been extremely helpful. But, if you can afford and can drive your children elsewhere. PLEASE... PLEASE DO SO. If I could legally drive they would not be going to Burt. (I cannot drive due to an ongoing medical issue).

Burt Elementary School is a great school. My kids have loved their time here and left for middle school very prepared. The teachers are caring and dedicated and the administration is supportive. Being close to APSU, the local university, is an added bonus as we get student volunteers studying to be future teachers. That extra hands on attention is great for the students. Burt Elementary has been great!

Bullying issues. Transportation is very badly zoned. My son should attend any of the three our four school closer to our home.

Being a military family, new to the Clarksville area, I was worried about sending my kids to two different elementary schools. But now that they have been here nearly a year they are both thriving. They both never want to move because they love it so much. I am impressed with the level of communication with the parents as well as the awesome bus system. And the teachers are ... AWESOME! We are proud to be St. Bethlehem Bees and Burt Tigers!

The staff that handled my child needed training in compassion. I went to them with an issue and got told my child was a tattle tale and deserved it. They also told us both for my child to stop fighting back with the kids who picked on her. My child was suicidal by the age of 10 thanks to the staff and the school. I would rather sit in jail for truancy than allow any more of my kids into this school.

Wonderful school where all the teachers and faculty care about the students. Any child would be lucky to go here.
