Pretty unorganized. Children fall through cracks. No emotional support.

Having came from 3 yrs of preschool (with a truly remarkable staff) in which parental involvement was encouraged, the transition to Kindergarten was a bit of a shock. While there seems to be a lack of organization in upper mgmt., it is comical to think it is because there is no male leadership. Our home-room teacher was very good but also very laid back so we still were missing a lot of details. Now that we have been in CES for 2 years, I can say that disorganization is not the rule! Although we had no prior knowledge of this years teacher, we are so overwhelmingly pleased with his placement. His teacher is organized, passionate, detailed, particular, innovative and eager to help. In return, he is attentive and excited about going to school each day... he's definitely "tuned-in". This is every parents (& teachers) dream! I also should mention that the Art program continues to be out of this world! I could not be more pleased. Parental involvement IS lacking because no one seems to want it or ask anything of us. There are many of us that would love to help but feel we have no entry point or go-to-person... one cannot help but feel "out of the loop" with no recourse.

Clanton Elementary has some of the best teachers I have met. My child has been taught so much while attending K through now 2nd grade!
