Principal does nothing about bullying my child was being bullied by two kids who happens to have moms in the PTA only one staff member stood up for my child the principal was so worried about pissing off the moms he dont do anything talked to other parents these two kids constantly get together and bully others and there is never anything done about it because the moms have so much power Principal needs to take a look at what he prioritizing over the health and safety of students my child is not the only one these kids target but as long as their moms are on the board there will never be a consequence then they have the nerve to ask me to do unpaid work in 100 degree weather in a fireworks booth multiple times how about answering why these two BULLIES get away with everything while my child hates going to school we are looking into other schools in the area these kids are in a younger grade too so they will be here bullying for the next few years stop being so money hungry and treat all kids equal but sure go sell your fireworks

Parents have too much power here. Your kid will get ignored if you don't volunteer even if you are working. The IAs have no education background and gossip about parents in front of their own children. The principal favors kids of the pta parents even if they arent great kids. Should probably restaff the whole school

This school is wonderful compared to any surrounding schools in the area. The current Principal really cares about the students and takes the time to interact and get to know each student. Each teacher seems to be above average as well. The ONLY thing I would change about this school is to see mandatory performing arts incorporated into the curriculum. Shy children will never overcome their fears of performing in public without this key tool. They do a "volunteer" play about once a year. But, that is up to the student and entails staying after school to participate. That means changing transportation for parents and there's not too many kids that want to stay at school longer. I don't think (not sure) that they offer any band either for 4th or 5th grades. This said, the rest is top notch. Performing Arts can be gotten another way; private lessons, theater, or whatever but that can be financially prohibitive for many parents. Safety fences to enter school grounds is not in place.

As good as it gets! My only disappointment, which is no fault of the school’s, is that it only is k-5. Personally, I feel 6th grade should be at an elementary school. Putting 6th with middle school exposes kids to so much more drama that’s not needed at 10/ 11 years old.

My son enjoys this school because of the great teachers, students, and the education and learning approach they provide. They have fun learning activities and a lot of extra after school activities for the students.

We have been apart of Cambridge Heights for 5 years now. Love the teachers and staff. When there is an incident I always seem to get a phone call which I appreciate. Although, I wish they would test my daughter for a learning disability cause she is showing signs of the same disability I have. I have had meetings with the staff, but always seem to hear "She's still in the average area." It is quite frustrating. I love how all of the doors are locked on the outside too once they're closed. The way the classrooms are setup are pretty neat, although it can be distracting if your child gets distracted easily, hearing what the other 3 classes are doing. Overall though this is a great school!

This is our 4th year at this school. We have had such a positive experience not only with staff members and teachers, but the extra curricular classes that are offered, and the volunteer work from all parents makes this school incredible.

My 5th grader was bullied at the start of this school year. I promptly advised the principle what was going on and he contacted the parents of the 2 girls. Problem solved! I really appreciated how seriously they reacted. I really believe that these types of matters are not the problem of the teachers. Bullying is serious and should be brought to the attention of the principal and the parents of all parties involved. Keep in mind that the principal needs the support of the parents in order for the matter to be resolved. The principal cannot fix it on his own. Parents need to be diligent and make sure they keep their kids in line. If a parent does not care, then the children won't either. We were lucky this time, hopefully it won't happen again. But if it does.....this mom will take action! I think Cambridge is a great school.

My family and I love cambridge heights! The staff is so nice. The teachers are wonderful. They make school fun and exciting my son learns something new everyday, he always says my teacher is also my friend she's the "coolest"! Mrs kingkade but I think all the teachers are awesome, and I am so blessed to be at a great school. My son reads does math and is so ready to learn because of his environment every morning. Because of the teachers there he doesn't really care too much for weekends. We are happy at our school... But more like family because that's the feeling we get every morning just coming to school.

I have placed my student in Cambridge Heights after her attending a different school in the same school district for 3 years. I researched the school before requesting enrollment and asked parents of other students enrolled about the overall performance and parent commitment to Cambridge Heights before my decision was made. I am so happy we have moved schools. The 4th grade teachers are phenomenal and have their students on very strict regiments based on their needs. They also offer educational field trips to go along with school studies. My 4th grader is finally being challenged in all academic areas, the parent participation is required and outstanding, and there is a feeling of overall community awareness in this school. I am very pleased to have made the hard decision to move our child and plan to keep her enrolled at Cambridge to finish out her elementary school education.

This is a wonderful school. My son has been there for 3 years now and we love it. Its a bit of a drive for us, but I love the school so much I prefer the 10 minute drive than the 2-3 min drive to the other 3 schools surrounding us. The teachers, librarian, Principle are all great. Actually the whole staff is awesome. I often volunteer, as do most of the parents to earn your volunteer hours. Its a parent participation school. I would highly, and do often, recommend this school.

My daughter has been at Cambridge Heights since 1st grade. The teachers are helpful, creative, and maintain good communication with parents. When I help out in the class I see many of children participating in the class discussions. The school has several after school classes such as Band, Choir, Science club, and language classes. Very nice school.

I am thrilled to have my 2nd grade daughter be a part of the Cambridge Heights family! She started attending mid-year in the 1st grade and has accelerated. She loves the Critical Literacy program and always looks forward to meeting, if not, exceeding her AR goals.

This school is nothing but CPS narks that sit around and gossip. Tired of it. Ready to quit.

When your child needs help they are swept under the rug. They also don't use their resource program like they should. Caddy, vindictive, they are money motivated, not postive role models to children that need it. They are quick to tell you bad but never tell you good. Horrible school. They say they are "like" a private school. It's funny how I pulled my son out of this school to be in a real private school. Teachers these days are nothing like they were. It's called work. DO IT!!

Cambridge Heights has been a great school. Our son came in as a kindergartner, and is about to start first grade. The teachers that we have met have been very nice, and genuinely concerned with providing the students with the best possible education. (Have heard about one (2nd grade?) teacher that likes to yell a lot, but haven't witnessed it myself.) With the current budget crisis, teachers are forced to pay for much of the school materials themselves. However, this school has a fantastic Parent Faculty Club to help, and there is a lot of parent involvement in the classrooms. Of course, there are (and will be anywhere) cases of students that may not behave appropriately, but from our experience, they have been dealt with in a positive manner. Unfortunately, given the fact that this is a public school - there is only so much that one teach/principal can do; especially if the other parent has no interest in helping improve a situation.

Cambridge Heights is a school where the teachers don't respect the children, bullying is ignored and the principal does nothing to improve the situation despite parent contact. I would nor recommend this school. Your child deserves better than being yelled at by teachers. Students are not listened to and no action taken when conflicts arise. There are other nearby schools which will foster a positive learning and social experience for your child. For their sake, please look into them befor you mistakingly send your child to Cambridge! Yes, I pulled my chiled out, but not until the damage was done.

Great parent involvement and the teachers obviously care about their students. The new increased class size has impacted quality and the students (in our class anyway) are suffering for it. Makes for a hectic and loud environment and many of them are lost in class...wish there were fewer students or more aides/classroom help. Overall this school has more extra's to offer than most public schools and their hearts are in the right place.

Best school in the San Juan Unified School District by far. Smaller population! The classes are very unique and have more personalized attention! The staff is all caring and knowledgeable.
