My children have attended this school for the past 4 years. I cannot see my children being a part of any other school. The school itself values family engagement and there are various ways to get involved. There is an abundance of free after school enrichment programs including sports and music instruction. The teachers at this school are very experienced and many have been teaching over 20 years. I have a child with special needs and teachers and leadership have consistently been willing to meet to discuss progress, updates, and strategies. The principal consistently makes herself available when a meeting is requested and is excellent at implementing parent feedback/suggestions. I feel my children are being prepared for middle school and beyond. There is a strong focus on reading and literacy from K-6th grade.

I'm disappointed with my daughter's kindergarten experience, just a month away from completing the year. I can't recommend this school to other parents for several reasons. Academically, it's lacking. There's no feedback provided; I expected teachers to inform me about areas where my child needs improvement, such as reading or vocabulary, but there's been no communication whatsoever. We've only had one meeting with the teacher all year, and my daughter was sick for the second scheduled meeting. Despite trying to reschedule, it's been impossible to find a time that works. The teachers are always busy after class, and there's no opportunity to speak with them before class either.Furthermore, this school appears to be the only kindergarten that doesn't organize any special events for our children. There have been no field trips or community-building activities whatsoever. While I know many parents with children in kindergarten who experience various engaging events, like winter performances, special Mother's Day or Father's Day events, or fun themed days such as pajama day or crazy hair day, our school offers none of these. Finally, and most importantly, this school fails to address bullying. Several months ago, my daughter tearfully confided in me that three students were teasing her, touching her butt, and singing hurtful songs. I promptly reached out to the teacher via the DOJO portal, emphasizing the urgency of addressing this issue and requesting a change in seating arrangements as a temporary solution since she sits with 2 of them. The teacher acknowledged my message but provided no further updates. To my dismay, my daughter remained seated with the same students. Recently, I actually witnessed one of these children touching my daughters butt when dropping off at her class. Immediately i told the teacher right there and then the teacher assured me she would handle it, I received no additional information about their approach to addressing bullying incidents. It's essential to me that these matters are taken seriously and that I'm kept informed about the school's procedures for handling such situations, but unfortunately, that transparency is lacking here. I messaged the principal as no child should be going to school and getting touched inappropriately but principal will first email you about attendance than respond to my email concerning inapropriate touching.

I went here as a child. My nieces and nephews go here. Everyone in my family has gone to Rosebank. The school itself is pretty run of the mill. Theres nothing spectacular about it. Nothing necessarily bad either. They try very hard to implement sports programs and keep the children active. The performance arts is lacking though.

I love Rosebank Elementary School! My son has improved by leaps and bounds in the three years that he has attended school there. The teachers are incredible at supporting his emotional and learning needs. All of the teachers and staff care so much about the students. Their curriculum is strong, and they have plenty of time to play with structured PE classes and enough recess. (Other schools seem to be getting rid of physical activities for their students, but my kid needs time to run off excess energy in order to focus on learning.) Also, the performing arts teacher is AMAZING. She is so great with the kids and has really drawn my son out of his shell. Rosebank also has a strong PTA which has monthly events that bring the community together. I'm so glad this is my neighborhood school!

Rosebank was a nightmare for our older daughter this last year. Mr vickers, the new principal had a real big problem with our religious views and decided he would get rid of us. We never had a problem when mr Woodward was in charge nothing in 4 years til vickers showed up. We brought It to the superintendants attention and he said " it was our problem and not to bother him". It is really unfortunate that our schools and districts are not there to support our children. We have moved on now, but we are waiting for the day these two administrators are caught with their wrong doings to the families of chula vista

I donot think the kids are supervised properly at recess and lunchtime. Also the staff are not receptive to kids with an IEP. Many do not want kids with disabilities at this school. The Principal is wonderful, If you ask him if he has a minute he always replies "I have lots of minutes" he is amazing and the glue that holds this school together. I hope he can change the attitudes of the gossiping staff regarding kids who need a little extra patience and compassion.

My oldest son, who is now a seventh grader attended Rosebank. I am very pleased with the teachers and the principal. My son left this school with outstanding grades and more self confidence. His teachers throughout the years pushed him to do his best, and now he has a 4.0 grade average. I now have a kindergartener attending and hope that he will have the same experience that his brother did! I was also part of the PTC and wouldn't change the way I feel about this school. The only thing that we need more of is parent involvement. You would be amazed at how the students respond to having the parents in the classrooms to help!
