Hello I have 2 kids that go to Mueller charter school in chula vista. I recommend this school to any parent. They take care of safety and solve problems right away. I want to thank the staff and principles for all of their hard work. This school is beyond measure of stability thank you!

My soon to be 8th grader has been at Mueller Charter since TK and has consistently been blessed with hard working compassionate teachers that focus on the overall well being and academic progress of students. As a parent I have witnessed a consistent growth in this school, providing students with social emotional learning, the Leader in Me curriculum, extra resources for teachers, 2 different after school programs, and a lot more resources than most schools that I have been to (I work for a school district). I highly recommend this school if you’re looking for a small supportive school.

I have nothing but great things to say about Mueller. They have outstanding staff, counselor's and teachers. They going an amazing job reaching out to the community and getting them involved.

There is so much bullying going on at the school and constant fighting and nothing seems to be done about it. Especially if the child has a parent that works at that school. The administrative staff doesn’t contact the parent when there is a problem, they deal with the problem on their end and I have to find out from my child later what happened. The administration does not care about the children, they’re only there for their money! And it’s too bad because There is a lot of good teachers at that school. Unfortunately the principal is horrible. In the whole five years my child was at the school I never once had any type of conversation with the principal she stays away from everybody.

They do not care about bullying or threats. If they have to much on their schedule your kid is not priority even when they know there was threats of a fight that day. Once The district is notified about this, because I had told them numerous times about bullying, now my kid can not attend because of "attendance" etc etc all kinds of other b.s excuses. The dean thinks hes right about everything and the principle just say sorry for him not doing his job right, yet my son still has to go to another school even thought hes been there since preschool. I told them that his attendance probably wasn't all that great, yes, he was late But when kids have problems at school they give you problems to get to school. They said the attendance was the same last year, not just this year. Then why is it a problem all of a sudden this year?! It's not a problem, What the problem for them is when I notify the district.

My daughter and son have been part of this school community for seven years. They have grown socially and academically, providing them with foundational skills for a successful academic future. They had excellent teachers who have always supported their education and well-being. Parent/teacher communication has always been outstanding. The school focuses on building a healthy relationship with the community by offering a variety of events throughout the school year, from school open houses, teacher-home visits, and parent-teacher conferences to Fall festivals, Reading nights, Evenings of the arts, and Olympic festivals. Now that my son is a senior, he is ready to apply for college and has been accepted into a few. Thank you, teachers and staff, for helping my children prepare academically for their careers.

They say the only people who write reviews are either really pleased or feel that they have been wronged in some way. You rarely get feedback from the middle majority. When I sort through reviews, I try to take into consideration the motivation behind each post. Disgruntled teachers posing as parents, off days, and poor communication can all translate to a negative post YOU read as you decide whether or not to send your child somewhere. I am not writing to sway your decision one way or the other. I recommend you visit the school and see for yourself what Mueller (or any school) is about. It is important. But for the sake of this school, Mueller Charter School, I will write about my own experience as a parent in hopes that you get at least one truthful review without an agenda (good or bad). My child was a student at Mueller for about 8 years. I made the decision to move my child there because the school they were at just wasn’t a good fit. They had a hard time making friends and it seemed like it was a challenge to really get noticed. Academically, they fell within the average range. The environment at Mueller was beneficial for my child. Making friends took time but after all these years, many of those same friends are still around. As is the concern with most parents, bullying was a top priority. My child did not experience that, despite not looking like most of the students there. It was my experience that when I communicated to staff that there was something wrong, they addressed it. That’s all I can ask. Problems will arise any time kids are involved. I did not expect Mueller to be perfect in this regard. There are lots of kiddos to look after. But what I DID expect was appropriate attention and URGENCY when problems did arise and they were notified. They did a great job of that. Academically, Mueller offered a great deal of support and opportunity. As one parent said, they offered free after school tutoring called target groups and even extended the year with intersession. We had several conferences over the course of the year and the teachers were AMAZING. All in all, I was pleased with Mueller’s offerings. They have a program called Leader in Me which helps develop leadership skills. Granted, the program is new and still needs work. But I was happy to see them working toward developing more than just academic robots. They also offered FREE sports for students 4th and up before COVID. Final Score? 5 stars.

Community involvement is tied to higher grades and test scores, regular school attendance and better social skills, these has always been a highlight of the school. In addition, the school offers online programs to support her learning in the subjects of reading, language arts, and math. These programs align appropriately to my daughter’s academic level and standards. Finally, Mueller characterizes for supporting students at all academic levels, the school provides target groups after school and two intersession weeks during the school year with the classroom teacher to help students meet their academic goals. I highly recommend this school.

Mueller Charter School is a great place for students and teachers. The school implemented the Leader in Me program a few years ago, and there has been so much growth in students' leadership and social-emotional skills. There are many programs in place that ensure students get what they need academically and emotionally. Teachers and leadership genuinely care about the whole child - which is needed now more than ever due to the stress covid has caused on our families. I'm proud to belong to Mueller, and I would absolutely recommend it to both students and other teachers.

Era una escuela muy buena hasta el 2021 que regresaron a la escuela, los padres nuevos no siguen las reglas de tráfico y el personal tampoco les dicen nada a los padres que no lo hacen parece que les da miedo no hay consecuencias para los infractores, también hay niños bullying y parece que el personal les tiene miedo no hay consecuencias

My name is Liliana McMillan-Ruiz. I'm currently in the 12th grade and will be attending a 4-year university this fall. I have to thank Mueller Charter School. Coming from a small town in Arizona, there was not much focus on educational goals and success. I came to Mueller in 5th grade and was also apart of their 7th-8th grade middle school, Mueller Charter Leadership Academy. From the very beginning, all of the adults pushed us to always strive to be a better us academically. They helped me believe in growth. Even in the elementary grades, students are presented with the existence of college. It's the small things like college gear spirit days that can encourage students to work hard in school so that they can go to this "college". I absolutely loved this school. I have nothing but good things to say about the teachers, staff, admins, principals and the atmosphere they've established. All my younger siblings also promoted from Mueller....all 4 of us have nothing but great experiences and memories of Mueller Charter School.

I would have given a 5 star had my daughter been placed with the teacher I requested. Overall my experience has been positive, my two boys are challenged, teachers are great. The only downfall (aside from the fact that my daughter is currently in a classroom that is not challenging for her) is they don't have much variety in sports, but you can always do that after school on your own time.

My daughter transferred from Halecrest Elementary to Meuller this school year and I can not be more happy and satisfied. Her third grade teacher Mrs. Saflar is absolutely Amazing, Caring, Devoted and Involved. She has helped my daughter become more confident in her academic abilities. Her door is always open for parents... She exemplifies the greatest qualities a teacher can ever offer. Staff is just as Amazing and Caring. Meuller Charter is outstanding and if you decide to take your child to this school, you will be more than satisfied.

Staff is very caring. Teachers really challenge students that need to be challenged. This school feels like a big family. Everyone knows everyone and the staff really takes the time to know your student and family. They have had a few thugs tag the school and they are very prompt and getting it removed. Overall no complaints.

I don't recommend this schoo; for anyone who has a child with a learning disability . They are to wrapped up on the Kids who can give them the high scores. I left for about 4 yrs and left my child with my mother(spanish speaker) and come to find out they rather pass him to the other grade to avoid giving services.He was promoted to jr high and could not read . Muller refuse to give him services They just kept passing him. Even knowing he had SPECIAL ED in his previous school they refuse to give it to him. He was cheates of an education

This school may seem to care about there students, but in fact, couldn't care less about them. You would think if a student with any kind of learning disablity, came to that school, or any school, they would at least pay alittle attention to that student. Instead of being sooo busy trying to get the highest test scores. Yeah, they got good test scores, but what about teaching? Is it to much to ask for when we ask to teach our kids? Instead, they don't give a ____, they just say, "He or She is just lazy and just doesn't want to learn!!" WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT!! As far as I'm concerned Muller Elementry gives teachers a bad name. As far as laying them off I think Mullers teachers should be FIRST on the list!! Discrimination should never be o.k. EVER!! At muller there is too much of that going on. I just thought everybody should know the truth.!

Mueller has been a great school for my son who is currently a 1st grade student. He is on a multi-age class with 2nd graders and has a great teacher. At first, I was not so sure that multi-age would work for my son, but after eight months of seing his academic growth, I am fascinated that he is in a multi-age class! His teachers have been great and staff in general is very supportive. I also like the Monday Assemblies and the University names given to the different multi-age classrooms...One thing this school is missing for it to be perfect, in my opinion, is the 50-50 English/Spanish program. Keep up the good work Mueller staff!
