The school is amazing, a wonderful place to work and I like that they embrace different cultures and the work environment is friendly and supportive. I love the discipline and of course the Dual Language Program.

It is so sad that this school has gone from a well-rounded, thriving learning environment to a tunnel-visioned test-driven jail. The staff turnover rate is high which is never a good sign. There are almost no field trips, no music programs, no awards assemblies, no Theater/ballet programs, etc. and haven’t been since before Covid. When parents and PTA try to bring positive experiences for the kids, they are shut down at every turn. The current administration is only focused on their dual language program and SOL scores. My child hates school and it breaks my heart. We wish we could afford to move into a better school district. I just don’t understand how CCPS has allowed administration to ruin this school like this for our children. Many of us have complained and it falls on deaf ears.

Not the great school people hyped it to be. All their resources and focus go towards their Hispanic and ESL population. Other reviewers are right.

This school has gone downhill so much in the last 5 years — it’s very sad to see. As the previous reviewer mentioned this is essentially an all ESL school. If your kid has an IEP good luck getting the accommodations because resources all go towards one group of students, they won’t got towards your child. The school does have a bullying issue that they are very aware of and won’t address or resolve because it requires them to admit that their ESL experiment isn’t working.

This school is not what it used to be, please don’t be deceived by word of mouth suggesting it’s a “great school.” It developed a great reputation over the years, but around 2019 they redistricted the school boundaries, and now bus in children up and down Route 1, as far south the Greenleigh Mobile Home Park, and as far north as 288/95 offramp. The “upper middle class” families in Mount Blanc and Meadowview used to go to Scott but were redistricted to Enon Elementary. The school’s focus is heavily centered around ESL, and the majority of the resources go to this population of students. If your student is not ESL, they will struggle to receive the attention they deserve from staff and teachers. The staff does not identify bullying well at all, and usually end up punishing the kids on the receiving end of the bullying, instead of the actual bullies...you can probably guess why. All the 5 star reviews are from pre-2019...wonder why there hasn’t been any recently?

Both my wife and I are highly-educated educators and this school is absolutely amazing! The student body is VERY diverse which is great for student learning. The teachers care so much about the students and the administrative team cultivates a commitment to excellence that was evident in September! We could not ask for a better school.

We have two children working their way through Elizabeth Scott elementary school right now. We have been 100 percent pleased with this school. Our experience has been wonderful. The teachers and staff are cooperative and caring. They take special care in placement of students within classes and they even make the SOLs fun with chants and special attention. They have special activities for students they do reading over extended breaks and they have lots of help in pulling kids out that need an extra boost.

My children have had the best teachers and made wonderful friends while attending a truly diverse school. The administration has been top notch and the school/staff have been awarded many honors including being named one of the Nation's Top 100 Title I schools! It is clear that the expectations are high of all staff members and as a result, also of all students.

My daughter is now in third grade and has attended since kindergarten. The principal, faculty, and staff are warm and helpful. Mrs Wade has been extremely helpful and patient with my daughter.

Wonderful Faculty and Education! When it was time for my daughter to attend kindergarten, my family struggled with the decision of private school vs. public school. My daughter started kindergarten at Elizabeth Scott two plus years ago, and we ve never regretted a moment. The school was built within the last five years, so it has the latest technology and equipment. In addition, it has a seasoned principal with an excellent reputation, so much so that many of the current faculty members followed her to Scott for the opportunity to be part of her staff. All of my daughter s teachers have done a wonderful job challenging her and in areas where she exceled, placing her in separate reading and math groups. The school s staff also energizes the students, exciting and motivating them about learning! Recently the students were challenged to read 1 million minutes. When students reached specific goals, their names were posted for all to see and were personally awarded colored bracelets by the principal and vice principal. Each classroom tracked their minutes, listing the top three readers. The school reached its million minute goal in December. My daughter was so excited!

Unorganized mess! My child attended Eliz Scott for Kind. & 1st grade and I was not pleased wt how little supervision there is for the kids. My son got away from his class & was found alone outside playing unsupervised @ 5 yrs old. He was given silent lunch & left his lunch in the class & sat alone wt no lunch & no one noticed my 6 yr old went all day wtout eating. The school asks for money on a weekly basis for everything you can imagine. Parents are asked to volunteer for everything because they have 0 staff. No background check for parents who volunteer. Unstructured! Unorganized! Unsupervised Mess! Good Luck!

For a fairly new school it is above average compared to Northern Virginia schools. They still need to work on some management improvements.
