I have 2 students in these schools and I do not know what these other negative reviewers are going through with the school but, I have to consider the Maryvale School District one of the top in the area. My children have always been given the extra help they have required over the years, the teachers have all been amazing through 8 years so far, the principals, counselors, admin staff, and anyone that you speak with about anything are all great. My 2 students have required extra help since entering school and there has never been any issue getting it. Even with issues with other students, once I have reported it, the situations are remedied. Great school system.

My son has gone here for the last three years (grades 2, 3 and 4). We have not had a good experience nor has my son. Recess is non-existent, physical education classes consist more of rule making than actual physical activity. I have reached out on several (dozens upon dozens of times) occasions to teachers (main teacher, ELA, music, etc) via email and nothing gets answered. Principal is engaged with parents and students, but it stops there. We are moving for my son's 5th grade next year, and I'm so thankful for that!

The children are not allowed recess. The parents are not encouraged to interact with the school. Music classes such as chorus/band are held after school but only 1 day/week for 1 hour. My son has made friends, but simply hates school because he is incredibly bored. They put him in special ed...even though he has a very high IQ. He has no interest in the work they give him. Plus he now has severe test anxiety! As soon as we can make enough money, I will be sending him to a private school.

This school does nothing to help my child learn. My son is constantly bullied by several other children and nothing is being done about it. I have seen my child go from happy and full of life to depressed and anti-social in just a matter of 2 years. The classroom sizes are way too high. over 25 students to a class. Both my son and myself have needed counseling from the stress this school has caused . I am either taking him out of this school or moving. No way am i sending him there another year.

This school is one of the best and helps students interact with others around them!! The teachers help the students understand concepts and the principal has monthly school meetings scheduled for the students, teachers and parents. Two parent teacher confrences are scheduled throughout the year. After school activities are available for students to join. The music program is EXCELLENT and really should be given more attention!! I love this school!!
