This was once a fine institution. Generations of my family attended this school, but the administration is now lead by someone once known for her commitment to students, families, and God has lost her way. We are so disappointed to hear terrible stories of power struggles and the mistreatment of students, family members and tenured staff. In fact, 18+ teachers have left just this year. I hope our diocese can get this place back in order soon so that our families can feel confident sending their children here again.

Excellent class choices for students to challenge them appropriately (including Honors and AP). Great extra curricular activities from drama to softball to photography.Learning environment with spiritual teaching to support growth beyond academics.

Great school! They really care about your emotional and spiritual being. They do everything in their power to help you be a better person. I definitely recommend this school. Wish I could go back!

As in all schools, there are students who push the boundaries and rack up detentions. It is a Catholic school and the expectations are high. Most who have problems adjusting are those who never attended a Catholic school before. If you go here, you will be expected to follow the rules or face to consequences. Personally, I have never received a detention and don't have a problem. I do my work, study, engage in school activities, and follow the clear procedures. No school is perfect. Does BE have teachers who are just average? The answer is yes. Does BE have a majority of teachers who are wonderful and want to help their students excel? The answer is yes. If you are a good kid who puts effort into being an active and productive member of the school community, you will soar here. Racking up multiple detentions is on you. Sadly, vaping is an epidemic in all schools now, and students caught at BE even in their cars vaping will be suspended.

The disciplinary policies were so bad that I racked up 25+ detentions within the first semester here. This school has a handful of great teachers, but one in particular was just erratic and passive aggressive when it came to me. The students are mostly immoral, and many vape in the bathrooms. I found myself unable to succeed here.

Treated the students horribly and the disciplinarians were just awful, one in particular. They lost the best thing that has ever happened to the school which is Mary Nemeth. She helped the students through everything and made sure they stayed in touch with their faith

Bishop England is an amazing school. They offer different levels of academic challenge to best suit the student. The teachers are always ready to offer extra help. The student body cares for each other and participates in many community service projects. The athletic department excels. The coaches are wonderful and also teach classes in the school so not only do athletes know them but also the whole student body. BEHS does have a strict dress code but it makes things easier over all i think because no one is judged on what they're wearing. BEHS offers a top of the line options program for special needs students that incorporates the into the normal high school experience. BEHS is a Roman Catholic School, therefore the entire student body attends Mass at least once a week and all activities are centered on God and Jesus Christ, beginning with prayer each morning. Even if you aren't Catholic, it is still a wonderful experience. I love Bishop England and its campus and its students and teachers.

While the school does have a strict code that can be seen in the handbook, it has come very handy in the professional world. As a graduate of Bishop England High School and current sophomore in college, I can honestly say that my time there has served me well in college as well as in the work force. The school really does a great job in preparing students for college and gives us the tools to succeed academically. Students there can be pretty cliquey, but what high school doesn't have that? I made some life-long friendships there and I can say that I am very glad that I was able to be a part of the Bishop England tradition.

I went to BEHS my freshman, sophomore, and first junior year and am currently at Hanahan High School for my second junior year. I have a love-hate relationship with BE. It is a beautiful school with a wonderful athletic program. They expect nothing but the best from their students. That being said, they do not offer very much for students that lack academic gifts. BE also has one of the best programs for students with special needs in the country. However, they are only helpful to students with born needs. I became extremely sick my junior year and BE did not seem to try to help me with my situation at all. Also, the students at BE are, for the most part, replicas of each other and are quite snooty and rude. (This is not every student, just the majority.) The arts program is also quite a sad excuse for an arts department. I would also like to make it known that the best math teacher I've ever had is at BE. Coach Cantey is not only a wonderful coach (he's head coach of BE's varsity football team and has lead the team to 2 state champs) but a very good teacher. I love and still consider myself a Bishop when it comes to sports.
