Changes have been made in the school over the past several years that don't go along with the dynamic that the school once had. It use to be superior and now I feel it is good.

NDES offers many programs at an affordable price. The teachers are friendly and devoted to the well-being of their students.

As another reviewer noted this use to be a great school. We have sent 3 kids there. Unfortunately numerous great teachers have left and have been replaced with teachers from public schools. The number of students has also exploded because of how poor the local public schools are. In 2 of my sons classes he no longer is given a book because they do not have enough copies for everyone, so the students sit there and hand copy notes all class long from overhead powerpoint slides. They have hired poor quality teachers out of necessity to fill empty positions and because the influx of so many students. It has become very snobbish and special treatment is doled out based on how much money you can donate. Save your money and wait to send your child to the high school as there are many other less expensive grade school options that now provide a superior education.

NDES is everything we ever wanted for our child in a school. He started kindergarten this year and we are so happy with our decision to send him here. The school and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The teachers and staff know you and your child by name and are always so upbeat; what a positive environment to learn in! The academics are challenging and creative. Every week the school has something fun for the kids to look forward to. There are activities after hours and they are always so well planned and a great time for the whole family! I work a distance away from the school and I never could have imagined the peace of mind that I would have being so far from my son during his school day. I always know that he is safe and cared for while he is there. All of the wonderful things that the school has to offer aside, the most important thing is that my son is thriving there. He is HAPPY, inquisitive, content and evolving every day. I can see how he is growing, as a student and as a person. For us, choosing NDES meant making some sacrifices in our life. Every, single, day, we are reminded that those sacrifices are worth it. I could not more strongly recommend this school.

My son transferred into NDES in the 8th grade after we moved from Cleveland Hts (where he'd attended University School) into Geauga County and a year in public school (7th grade). His year in the public school, along with his twin sister, was heartbreaking. Even though both are A students, athletes, and musicians, they were ignored and beaten down emotionally as new teens to the school (always a difficult situation), with no effort on the part of the public school to intervene. Notre Dame was a Godsend. My son thrived and made many new friends, and had and outstanding academic and extracurricular year. We were at the school weekly for activities ranging from band performances to science fairs to chess tournaments to special academic programs and anyone who says they only were there with their child once or twice a year simply didn't avail themselves of the opportunities this fine school has to offer--in one of the most beautiful and safe settings in Ohio. As a lifelong educator of young physicians, I can say unequivocally that the principal and all the teachers we've interacted with are top notch professionals! Both my son and daughter will both go to NDCL high school next year!

Notre Dame Elementary School is an excellent school. I can personally say that my children have received and continue to receive a wonderful education.The administration, teachers and academic programs combined make this a terrific school! The current administration is the best thing that has happened to Notre Dame Elementary. The current Principal is all about the children! She is always available for the parents and students! She continues to add programs that will benefit each and every child. The Enrichment programs benefit each student! The front office is always friendly and welcoming! While all schools do have bullying issues, Notre Dame Elementary addresses this concern with organizations that come in and talk to the students and also to the parents. If you are looking for a school that your child will be challenged, nurtured and receive an excellent education, then you should check out Notre Dame Elementary!!

Notre Dame Elementary is a fantastic school. The programs offered meet the needs of all students. This year drama, dance and science olympiad were added to the list of wonderful programs. The enrichment programs as well as the classroom teachers challenge my kids academically. The administration and office staff are knowledgeable, warm and welcoming! The Sisters' play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the school and my children love them! Norte Dame is an extension of my family!

Notre Dame used to be an excellent school, and was always known in this area for its great reputation. Unfortunately, it isn't so anymore. Although there still are some great teachers, there are also several that should have been let go for various reasons. This has been grossly ignored by the administration. Sadly the school isn't run by the Sisters of Notre Dame anymore, but it's run as a "business" and is essentially being run into the ground. There are over 19 families that have chosen to leave the school this year, and NOT for economic reasons, as the administration will claim. Most are going to other private schools. There are bullying issues which are not being addressed by the "principal". The curriculum is horribly weak. It is truly a shame that this formerly wonderful school has fallen to its current state.

Notre Dame Elementary is a safe place where teachers really care about their students and teach the students to do the same. the education is excellent. Students who need extra help or more challenges get what they need so that each student has the tools to reach his or her potential. The students are well prepared for high school. The faculty and parents work together to develop good values and a love for others.
