I have a child that attends this school and is struggling in Reading. His teacher has convinced the staff and some school board employees that my child has attention deficit disorder, ignoring the fact that he was taken to a doctor to be evaluated for this and the physician's diagnosis was that he does not have ADD. I am fighting with everything I have to get the proper accomodations for my son to bring his grades back up and the school has no interest in helping me. His grades went from A's and C's last year to F's this year. My greatest hope is to remove my child from this school and send him to one that will take action to help him get the education he deserves!

In my opinion, this School is great. Provided your child(ren) is/are perfectly well-behaved (zombie-like). Other than that, this School is HELL for Parents to havlve to deal with. The St. Mary School System seems to get more than their share of 'Off Days'. Hardly a week goes by that there's not an 'out for (something)' day. They have a very low tolerance for anything out of the norm. They told me and my family once (face-to-face, mind you) that they were not going to give up on my Son any time soon. 2 days later, they put him out and made arrangements for him to begin attendance at the local Alternative School. I also agree with the other Parent about the Teachers' poor attendance. As much as Teachers cry about not being paid enough, you'd think that they would be working EVERY Monday-Friday WITHOUT INTERRUPTION! But that's not the case at all. I'll fight for Teachers to get a pay raise when they start working SOLID SCHEDULES like everyone else on Earth. They get an INSANE AMOUNT of Off Days. [>:-O

My children did well at this school years ago and my grandchildren are doing well now. Like every school, there are a few of the teachers that need to go. Overall, the faculty is caring and teach more than what is in the books. Discipline problems are handled according to the rules in the handbook. This school is a real asset to our community.
