We were concerned with what was being taught in our child's classroom and thus what was being left out. We were alarmed at what our child said they couldn't talk about or never were taught. Negative experience. We left the school.

There are almost no sports now because classes are so small. It was really hard to fit in. I liked music but just not enough kids.

I see why the positive comments are all from years ago. We have been involved with the school for many years but have to admit the quality of the school has plummeted. Enrollment has dropped significantly in the last five years and most sports have been dropped because of this. I imagine this has to do with the lack of initiative to improve and build the school. There is also a lot of infighting among the Lutheran leaders about the school. As a parent, the administration was unpleasant to work with. Major issues were not dealt with. It was very frustrating. Diverse voices are not heard. Those who aren't in the "boys club" don't have a voice. After talking with teachers, we also learned that it is not a positive place to work. Not only are teachers paid poorly, but they are not valued. There is high teacher turnover. In the last couple years alone over 50% of the teachers have left and the school struggles to fill open positions. It would not surprise me if the school closes soon.

Valley is a great school, just like every other school it is not perfect. Also not like every other school Valley is more then just a school, it is a family. The staff love on your kids, and the other families and staff welcome love and Christ like behaviors. So blessed to be a part of the Valley Family <3

Valley Lutheran has a full curriculum of core courses for all grades. The high school offers art, foreign language, vocal and instrumental music, and Advanced Placement courses along with opportunities for Christian service. Student growth and academic achievement are aided by the desirable student/teacher ratio, daily devotions, prayer, and a close working relationship between parents and the school. Each year new co-curricular opportunities are added so that students can be involved in activities that are led from a Christ-centered perspective. Families choose Valley Lutheran School as an alternative to public education, as we are able to educate a child not only academically but spiritually and emotionally because of the love of Jesus Christ.

Valley Lutheran is committed to offering excellent education and caring about students, both academically and spiritually. As a teacher, I find joy in my job every day. Our principal is fantastic and has the school growing and headed in the right direction. Come shadow for a day and see if it's right for your son or daughter!
