My child was transferred from 5th grade at Landau in the Special Ed Program to JMS for Middle School because it was his "home" school. He has been on the same level as all the kids in his class and when got to JMS, he was completely lost. The classes were so much harder and I realized something I had noticed years earlier, but it was much more prominent at JMS... The Special Ed was taken up by kids that were not actually Special Ed Students, they were English Second Language learnings, as far as I know, that is not a disability! My child is Autistic, that is a disability! Within the first week at the school the person who was in charge of getting my child to lunch had lost my child! Lost!!! Then he got harassed in the bathroom. He was then transferred to a Life Skills Program by November, which means the district has basically given up on educating him. Because they are too busy with English Second Language Learner.... Pathetic!! They got to keep their score up and with kids like my son there, it brings it down. Maybe if they had actually tried to teach him. Also the teachers seemed to really be annoyed by my son. When you get to that point, do us all a favor, retire!
