For the trouble of coming to Mitchell county you may as well go to Pelham.

I am an alumni of MCHS and I enjoyed the time I spent there. The staff was very pleasant and compassionate and the faculty were always informative and took out their time to make sure that you had what you needed to succeed at school. Also the principal Mr. Adams was a God send he was always there for me when I needed him. He was loving but stern.

If you wanna come to this school, you better be battle-hardened. Cause people will try to make you look dumb, they will talk about you, and if you dont stand up for yourself, you will become a laughing stalk. If you have tough kids, bring them. Otherwise, No.-A Student that has been here for Years.

I have been a teacher at MCHS for ten years now. (I didn't know this site was here and am somewhat dismayed there aren't more recent reviews. I will share this with my students.) There are so many exciting things to report that are happening at the school, but I don't have official statistics with me. Generally speaking, however, we have a high percentage of students who will receive an Associates degree at the same time they graduate. We currently have some freshmen who have qualified for and are enrolled in one or more college classes. In recent years at least two students were able to fly solo and receive their wings through our JROTC program. Our culinary arts program is actively sought in the community for catering events. One alumnus recently played football for UGA, and one of our senior boys just signed this week with Savannah State for a full scholarship in football. The majority of the current faculty have been at the school for a minimum of six years. The rapport between faculty and student body is very strong. If you are moving to the area and researching educational options, you should come by the school and visit. You are always welcome.
