Bullying swept under the rug and denied. It only stops if you go to the superintendent's office and threaten to contact authorities. Teachers yell and often. Not all of them of course. Even if your child is good and can do the work, the environment of yelling at kids is stressful for them. There are some wonderful and amazing teachers, but the angry and short fused ones ruin it for all.

i agree with the parent that gave the one star rating-in fact, i came here to make almost those exact same comments. some of the teachers can be quite mean and seem like they do not like kids...uh, bad profession to be in if you don't like kids. they need to replace SEVERAL of the teachers and send the 'retired' ones back into retirement. i am disappointed in what is acceptable here. it is like they have their own rules (or lack thereof) and don't care what the rest of the world thinks-since their world is just this small town.

My children have attended CES for 6+ years. They HAVE learned to read, write, and count, but they are not challenged. Almost all of the staff (teachers, administrators) are lovely to talk to; however, their performances speak much louder than their words and their performances leave EVERYTHING to be desired. I would give examples to support my statement, however, I have a limited # of characters remaining in this post AND I need to remain anonymous for the sake of my children. There are teachers at CES that have retired but returned to teaching. Those teachers are tired, grumpy, and out-dated. There are also a couple of exceedingly angry, harsh teachers, one in particular, who seem to feel that berating their students and yelling at them in front of others is acceptable. And indeed, it seems to be acceptable as the administration, that is well aware of it, continues to accept it. Additionally, bullying is a much bigger problem at CES than the administration wants to see. It is easier to ignore the problems than face them. I must concede, there are a few acceptable teachers. I would move my children to another school in an instant if possible.
