I have been pleasantly surprised at how well this school performs. Having moved from a newer area to this school zone, which is in an older area of town, I was afraid my kids wouldn't receive a great experience/education. (It would be nice to have a big, shiny newer school like Frazier or Hajek). BUT, Mound has definitely surpassed what I want from a school. Each of my children excel/excelled here.

Let me just start by saying the children that start in pre k at this school get the absolute best of early education teachers. Mrs. Fletcher is an amazingly sweet attentive teacher. Both of my girls go to Mound and started out with her. They both followed her class with Mrs. Ball, for kindergarten, and she is wonderful as well. My oldest is finishing her third grade year and she hasn't had a teacher disappoint me yet. Even with her ADD and struggling with her through first and second grade, her teacher never gave up and helped me get her on the right track. Third grade was such a big year and i'm very thankful for the time and attention the teachers and counselors and administrators paid to her and she is absolutely thriving. We are looking to move but will not consider anything outside the mound elementary school zone.

My son is ending his second year and my daughter ending her first. I absolutely love this school. No school is gonna have everything perfect or accurate all the time but I have and my children have been treat great.

My son is in his second year here. There have been several bumps along the way. I think his education is fine. I can tell he is learning so much. I do not like the way some of the staff treat the parents. The school district seems to care as much as the principal and the assistant principal.
