6-7th grade is pretty chill, not much homework at all and every student is just playing games because they have laid-back interactive teachers and an engaging curriculum so they are not overloaded with anything and can find a free school-life balance. 8th grade is where you crash out. Especially if you have an advanced track child on Pre-calc at Stevenson or Geometry. There are some teachers who are especially strict or condescending towards students (there is one specific teacher I doubt even likes children in general) and there WILL be loads of homework. They tell you it’s to prepare for high school, which is true in a sense, but they did not prepare me for 8th grade. However, I do appreciate the competitiveness and well rounded curriculum which drives students to work harder and at an above state average level for an easier path to success at Stevenson. Hope this school reconsiders some of the Science teachers… Thanks, coming from a past alumni

Excellent feeder school to Adlai Stevenson. Students compete and place at state level athletics, students can compete in math consortium, and staff is recognized by the Board. I feel good about belonging to this school.

This school has very high test scores, that is what matters.

This school is worst of the feeder schools for Adlai Stevenson High School. 1. Worst teacher to student ratio (834 kids)2. Unqualified and inexperienced teachers3. Ineffective management4. Bad sanitary conditions in rest roomsI am not sure how the tax payer money is being spent towards betterment of conditions to help provide quality education.

This school is not good. The teachers are horrible and don’t even explain what to do or how to do it, they just expect us to do it. Also, the students there are very rude. They spend the nearly every class on the iPad which distracts from learning useful information. They be playing games all day instead of learn. The teachers don’t do anything about it, I heard from a friend that they accused a guy for playing games but he was studying??? Teachers are useless, don’t go here.

This is a great school. My kid was going this school and we never had any issues.

This school is not serving me well, it has lackluster and ignorant staff, bad student to teacher communication, beat up lockers that you can open without even putting the combination in. And if you are a new student no one ever helps you, and no one is willing to talk to you.

This school is average school with above average resources. Some of the teachers show racial favoritism. If parents and kids voice opinion they will be met with consequences. Our kid who is bright became unhappy.

Visiting this school during a girls' volleyball game and their rude and disrespectful behavior (not only to the other team but to the parents of the other team) was shocking and I caught it all on tape. Mostly disappointed in how the coach encouraged it. Lack of good sportsmanship said a lot about their lack of integrity. What good is a school that manufactures good tests scores but not good people. I am glad my kids do not attend this school and I would not want them influenced by this environment.

Great school, like the teachers and the principal. School process is very organized, good communication with the parents. Never had any issues as a parent. I do agree though with the other parent regarding iPads - they are not helpful, they take away focus from learning, too much time spent on iTunes and games.

My school is Aptakisic Junior High School and they help students learn and have fun. We have our own iPads to help us. These are very useful and it is easy to communicate and get work to teachers.
