I don't write reviews often. I decided to do this time because I wanted to share my thoughts as an ASD mom, I wanted to spread out my words for parents who are looking for a school for their special need kids. PS164 has a great Horizon program which is supervised by Principal Steinberg. She is very passionate about her work. You will see her everywhere at the school. She gets involve for every little bit. She listens what parents' needs and thoughts. She recruits good teachers and good staff under her team. Everyone from this school is willing to help. My son has been in this school for almost one year, he makes so much progress for his behavior, Speech, OT and PT. If they notice the child's academic behind, they will offer afterschool program to support the kid's needs. They also have many clusters such as painting, drawing, playdate, Yoga and etc. You named it and they have it.I am so glad I make the right decision for putting my son to PS164. However, this school is located in Boro Park. You have to deal with the traffic congestion. It's very frustrating when you need to pick up your child from school. This is a great school and I highly recommend.

Outstanding experience. We decided to choose the school primarily for the diversity and for G&T. Our expectations have been exceeded. The gymnasium may not be the best and with the many languages and newness of the PTA, parent engagement could be better, but what goes on in the classroom is absolutely top notch. The high level of diversity only adds to a good culture of respect for teachers and eachother.
