School staff does not care bout the safety of your children they do not have a dean at this school let alone metal detectors. They never return calls or pick up the school phone. Kids come and go as they please and they do not call the parents to let them know of any problems with your child

My son graduated from this school 2 years ago. I must admit it was vigorous at times because they expected him to do his absolute best. It all paid off at the end, this school offered the opportunity for him to take & pass 3 of the HS regents exams, which put him in a position to get into a great HS advanced program. At this point,he is ahead of the game,as he has completed all his 10th grade requirements & will be entering into the 11th grade in a few weeks. The Principal- Ms. Spencer gets to know her children & advocates for them. I have found her to be a hands on leader that will step in in order to provide a high level education experience for her students. Her decisions are based on the well being of the students. At first, we overlooked this school as a middle school choice. But I thank God for the day, 5 years ago, when my husband decided to personally check out the school despite the stigma & negative hear says. We are well pleased with the education our oldest son received at MS 2/Parkside Prep. Academy. Our youngest is now attending & we are happy parents, as we know that he will be well taken care of. This school a hidden treasure!!

PPA is a great school! Lead by A great Principal! My son graduated with 3 Regents prior to attending High School. They have all kinds of programming to meet each student needs...(E.g. STEM Activities, Culinary Arts, Band, College Tours, A Beacon program and other in-school/after-school activities.)

Horrible school in my opinion, in this school most teachers are just there for a pay check. Don't get me wrong they have a handful of teachers that actually care.if I had to do it all over again I would not send my son there. My second son will be attending the charter school.

My son is attending this school and I love the quality of education he is getting. The principal and teachers care about the level of education he receives and because of their care he is attending a specialized school on the fall.

Now that I am in the school now its pretty cool. Yeah, there might be some fights and might get rowdy but its not that bad. You get to make cool friends and meet very nice teachers like Ms. Washington.

MS 2 , Parkside Prep Academy has teachers that go the extra mile for their students. I have been very impressed with their encouragement and enthusiasm towards the students learning potential.

Just reading the reviews that are on here really dishearten me. I went to this school about 13 years ago. I remember my teachers well, too bad I cannot named them, as this site has a policy to not named the teachers, but I will like say that I did them proud. Reading those reviews and seeing how terrible those students english is written shows how their little they pay attention in class. I know that the students that go to that school may have their hardship, but I believe they have the opportunity to become something better. I graduated MS2 back in 2001, I graduated high school went on to college and made something out of myself. I'm in the process of becoming a teacher, and I remember my teachers and the lessons they thought me, and I will continue to make them proud. Its just a shame that the students of MS2 today don't know what they have until its gone and too late. in my heart I will this school a 5 start, but honestly until things change I have to give it a below average school.

This school is a bad school in my opinion. I went to this school for 1 year and i had to transfer. The teachers are caring some of them , then there are other's that don't . This school , has so much drama , and violence. I think my first year there , was horrible . It was cool at first , but there are so many kids who are in that school , that love to fight. These Kids fight to much. They always want to fight for some reason even for a little reason. I really dont like it

I attended this school last year, form 6th grade to 8th grade. Those were the worst years of my life. The students are loud and disrespectful, the teachers do not respect anybody, the lunch help is worse than the kids. The principle picks favorites and in a situation, always chooses that child and does not care about anybody else. I advise no parent to bring their child to this school unless they want to see their child fail.
