St Anselm has come along way. Things were shaky in the beginning but now with our new principal things are really shaping up. I am proud to have my children attend St Anselm school. They are always eager to learn and are treated with compassion.

Wonderful school with caring teachers and staff

I honestly feel like I have the most honest review of this school. The school is falling down slowly, there’s barely any teachers at the moment. They force children to do more work then needed, the children have to do projects almost every other week which can be very stressful and exhausting, I agree with the fact that their trying to push children to be the greatest they can be but it can be very stressful for the kids 1-8th. First graders and kindergarteners shouldn’t have to stress over a 3D projects almost every other week. On the other half the school has good academics and can be a bit interesting. It introduces kids to speak in front of a crowd by doing assemblies which can be good. Some of the staff can be a bit rude especially the principal, the nice staffs usually leave between 1-3 years most likely because of the rude principal. I wouldn’t recommend sending ur child at this school if u value their mental health.

This school is excellent. The rigor and dedication of teachers and principal is exceptional. During these very difficult times of the COVID pandemic the administration and staff demonstrated such precaution and the most high level of safety, we as parents felt safe and at ease to have our boys there. In regards to academics our boys are pushed to reach their highest level of performance. Teachers are there with us parents and the boys all the way. We highly recommend this school to all parents, it’s a place where our Catholic faith is thriving and tradition is alive.

This is the worst school by far! Dysfunctional and disorganized. Teachers are always absent. Online &in person learning are a mess. Teachers/Principal do not communicate with parents. Everyone always has an excuse for not being accountable. Principal does none of the work herself. She always has someone else doing her job. Can never get a straight answer from her or her teachers. People who are not teachers covering classes. Principal claims it is a high performing school but at least 30 or more children may have to repeat next year... not fair to tuition paying parents. If this school was ever high performing it’s probably because she’s prejudice against children who have IEP’s or needs. She doesn’t accept them/services in the school. Of course if you’re handpicking the best students you can make the claim of high performing. Teachers do not last more than 1 or 2 years there because they can’t stand her ethics and her attitude towards them. She views teachers as second class citizens. There is no support from her for them. She doesn’t take the time out to show them what she wants. She just demands them to do as she says. She is not a teacher of teachers. She is not a servant leader as all principals should be in a Catholic School. She’s more concerned about the money she gets in from benefactors and her bottom line $$ rather than learning and teaching others during these difficult times how to be most effective. She takes no responsibility for her teacher’s actions. She doesn’t even observe or spend time in the classroom with them. She just complains and belittles them. She mostly worries about the best way to save a buck. Kids did HORRIBLY on MAP and their grades. Ineffective school, ineffective teachers, and ineffective leadership. Dysfunctional, finger-pointing, lack of knowledge, and lack of accountability school. She doesn’t run the school her secretary does, because she always needs to check in w/ the secretary instead of giving a straight answer to questions. I will not be sending my child there next year to a school that the principal doesn’t invest time in her students and teachers and wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone! She needs to reflect on her practices as a leader and start caring about people. Paying tuition for my child to learn not so that my child teaches themself. If my child could do that I wouldn’t be sending my child to school now would I? Start caring about what matters and maybe you can call yourself HIGH PERFORMING!

I currently have 2 kids in this school and it has been a great experience from the beginning. My kids walk in every day and don't look back to say goodbye which to me shows their comfort level through those doors. The staff is great and always willing to go the extra step. Knowing my kids are in a safe environment in this day and age is also another plus, they have security in place which unfortunately is a necessary evil. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this school.

I am a parent of three children currently attending St. Anselm School and one who graduated last year 2015. I enrolled my first child in 2006 and although at the beginning I believed the school requirements were very demanding, I quickly learned it was preparing my child for the future. I cannot express with words how proud I am to have my children attending St. Anselm School. I am very thankful Miss Lopes is encouraging a learning environment while cultivating self-respect and respect for others which mirrors the education my children are receiving at home. My children are doing well academically and are very respectful to others. The afternoon activities are educational and help my children improve their academics and the activities that are done through out the year such as science fair projects that helps them become innovators and catholic school week where parents are invited for Career Day. In addition, I would like to comment that Miss Lopes does her best at maintaining the school as a safe environment for our children and staff. I feel at peace to know my children are safe while I am at work and I do not have to worry. I am very proud my children are excelling academically.

My daughter has a wonderful year of learning at St. Anselm School. The decision to enroll her at the school was the right fit. Her experiences at our neighborhood public school was disappointing. Even with small class size, little learning took place, between the student outbursts, the fighting, and chronic absences of her teacher along with the undisciplined environment, she was miserable. At St. Anselm School, she looked forward to the activities of the day. Whether it was learning about Colonial America, or noteworthy Women in history, or attending Church Mass, or reading Charlotte's Web, or having a country picnic in the school yard. She was on the Honor Roll every marking period and received an award at a special ceremony. I saw her full potential being realized. The safe, disciplined, and nurturing atmosphere of the school with the Principal, Ms. Lopes and her capable staff made the school experience for my child a most successful one. We look forward to the new school year with great anticipation. Yeah!!!

My family has been a part of St. Anselm School for more than thirty-five years. Under the outstanding and capable direction of Ms. Lopes, principal, several generations of children have benefited from the exceptional education program the school offers. One that emphasizes discipline, morality, and love of God. As the principal of a school, any school, it's leader must be focused, confident, and strong if students, school, and community are to grow and, yes, thrive educationally, spiritually, and socially. Ms. Lopes sets an excellent example for students and staff with her "hard work gets the job done" attitude. She is a take no nonsense person. The school has structure where students, staff, and parents are held accountable. Diligence, discipline, and enthusiastic encouragement are the formula for a successful education that is preparing our children for the "big World". St. Anselm School's environment and atmosphere are geared toward positive learning. The curriculum is stimulating, challenging, and diverse in subject. The teachers are encouraging, caring, and nurturing, introducing students to the marvels of the world. This school is a place where God is the center of learning.

Saint Anselm's has provided my daughter with a quality education with a religious foundation that has surpassed my expectations. From the moment my daughter began, she has been given the support that she needed to succeed in a warm and inviting environment. She is now an eighth grader and is about to leave in June and it pains me that she is leaving such a wonderful school. Ms. Lopes and her staff have created an educational institution that gets results. I am so grateful for all the hard work and dedication they have put into my daughter. This school has been the best decision I have ever made for my child. I highly recommend this school to any parent who wants their child to succeed. Thanks to Saint Anselm's my daughter has the necessary tools to go further in life and a Christian foundation that has inspired to be a leader in her own parish. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Ms Lopes and your faculty for giving my daughter what she needs.

Thank you Ms. Lopes for providing my two boys with a quality Catholic education in a safe, structured, and disciplined environment. I want my boys honestly to have a better future, to succeed in life. Everyone at St. Anselm School cares about the children. It begins with the principal. It continues with the teachers, and staff. My two boys are both involved in the extracurricular activities. They love the science and art clubs. My youngest could not wait to participate in the art club and have some hands on fun. I even had them drop band in order for them to participate in the extracurricular tutoring program. The best decision I made was to transfer my boys to St. Anselm School. I know they are getting the best education and they are also very happy.

every year at least 5 kids from each grade transfer... there are new teachers every year ... no gym teacher, no council for the kids, no active teams the children can join and once you get to really know how the principal operates .. it is apparent WHY PPL LEAVE.

Academically this school is great but Ms. Lopes and her intimidating ways will drive you out of the school. She is a control freak who does not allow the children to run or play during recess (despite there being a new and expensive padded floor), the children aren't allow to speak in the lunchroom and when she enters a room everyone must stop speaking. She bullys the parents and her staff aswell. Her rules make it so that the children are miserable. The classrooms have 40 children in them and 1 teacher, there isn't even a teachers assistant. There are always new teachers every year becasue she is so impossible. The teachers are very nice but it is only so much they can do. This school does not offer any extra curricular activities for the children who have to stay in afterschool because she does not want them walking up and down the stairs.. She also holds PTA meetings mid morning so that no one with a real job can be there. She has no interest in the parents concerns because ultimately its her way.
