Good school, strong academics...both my kids like the environment. Teachers are excellent and school lunch is good.

My experience with the school has been really good as it relates to my son. No school is perfect and everywhere you take your child, you will always find fault at something or need something to improve. This school makes my my child happy, learn well above his grade level and he is comfortable with the adult teachers around him.

My daughter started reading within 1 month after being enrolled in Kindergarten....it's fascinating to know that K-students are exposed to various cultures of different countries around the world .... has Music, Arts, Mandarin & Spanish classes....The Christmas show was an impressive cultural theme... and beautiful performances of various classes playing the flute... The Garvey School has a lot to offer students, and I would certainly recommend this school to parents.Current Parent

I took my daughter to the summer program for one day exactly. I stayed the entire day. The teacher had only experience working in daycare and no degrees in education. She yelled at the children and was punitive. She had no structure for the day. It was extremely disorganized.

This is our first experience with The Garvey School. My daughter missed the cut off for UPK by two months so we enrolled her into the Nursery program so she won't fall behind. We chose this school because of the diversity it offers and the curriculum claimed to be offered to all classes. So far, there has been noting but miscommunication and chaos. We are very specific on the religious practices and beliefs we expose our children too and even though it has been made known to both the teachers and the principal our simple requests have not been taken seriously. I was told weekly lesson plans would be emailed every week and nothing has been received from the school. Not a single email about anything. School meetings, rescheduled school trips, change in the daily schedule all of these things took place within the first two weeks of school and nothing was communicated. I am seriously considering finding a new day care. The lack of communication makes me very uncomfortable, and does not give me very high hope for the UPK program she will be eligible for next year.
