I would not recommend this school for a few reasons. The communication is awful. There was a threat made towards my child and I was not informed nor was the other childs parent(s) informed. The child was not punished after this incident. The principal is a joke. Some of the teachers are great and others seem like they are in the wrong field. The principal dropped the ball multiple times, she lies to the students during entire grade meetings when the teachers already told them the truth. They should really get on the same page.Safety and communication is very important when sending your children anywhere, especially school. This school lacks both and if there were another option I would change schools.

I found that the communication with anyone besides my child’s main teacher has been nearly impossible. Messages left are not returned. Also, bullying is not taken seriously enough. Dealing with this situation last year has is nervous to go back since reaching out to the principal proved to be pointless and nothing was ever done.

My daughter is a soon to be 4th grader here. Since day 1 (kindergarten) this school has been a pleasure. They greet the kids with enthusiasm, use class dojo as a easy means of communicating with teachers, the PTO put on regular family oriented activities even through the pandemic. Teachers are pleasant. As with any school, your experience will be what you make it- you chose to be involved in your child’s learning experience and you’ll be good to go.

This school did not get a 4 because it's good. However, the good news is the Magnet schools are good and Bristol's poor CMT scores have caused them to be uncapped to Bristol students. I expect this not to be published since everyone commenting likes Mrs Cassin. I am well aware that that is not the case. My daughter now attends a magnet school with 41 Bristol students in Hartford and her CMT scores have substantially increased, even though she missed 10 days. Her school is a silver school, top 5% in the US,while only Bristol Central is silver in Bristol. She has a book report due every month and she knows her time table because they drilled her in fourth grade, unlike Bristol. She comes home dancing and singing. I can trust them not to let her outside in the rain. Through her magnet school, she went to Starbase in fourth grade and Discovery Center Camp at the YMCA in Woodstock,CT this year. Who knows what next year holds. She liked her teachers at both Stafford and the Magnet school. Disciplinary problems are in both, so she's learning to cope. She has 3 more years until highschool. We're looking for a good fit Magnet school, maybe Trinity.Magnet schools start in preschool.

I have no issues to report. My kids enjoy the staff here. Parent involvement is very important.

My daughter is in second grade at Stafford Elementary, love this school, the best in town!!! Great teachers and the principal is great with the kids. I feel my daughter is on top academically because of the reading and math programs.

I have had two boys through this school and I can't tell you enough how wonderful the teachers are! Especially 4th & 5th grade. Mrs. Cassin is great with the kids and has many spirit events to bring the children, parents and teachers together. Best teachers- best school!

I just moved here from Massachusetts and as any parent would be I was very nervouse for my children to start school in a new town. To my surprise my children had a smooth transition and they love school. The teachers a great and both my children have stated they like this school better than their old one because they teach us better. I can not praise their teachers enough. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Kulesa thank you!
