My experience at this school was absolutely horrible. I left after 7th grade due to discrimination against me. I had good friends, and was in the A. I. program, it's just that when I was integrated in with the other kids, they called me names and other things as well. Most students are not excited to learn, and instead destroy things owned by the school and others for fun. Due to how the students act, the teachers don't act very respectfully either, depending on their mood. Some teachers just gave up. They try to support the students at this school, mentally and emotionally, but it still isn't the best in terms of that. I do not know anything about the special education program, but by the looks of it they do a pretty good job. All in all, Vikan is a horrible school and I do not recommend you send your kid(s) to it unless you absolutely have to.

I have an 8th grader and she has been encouraged and pushed in her advanced math class. Even the classes that aren't advance push her to challenger herself. The teachers do everything they can to help students to succeed. Many stay after school to work with students and provide a safe place for students who may not have a safe place to go after school. Teachers are always striving to do what is best for students and meet their individual needs. I have twin 5th graders and they will be attending Vikan next year.

I have had two kids in this school and my third is now attending. The teachers are lovely, and my youngest is in two advanced classes that are keeping him challenged and dedicated to earn straight A's. We moved out of Vikan's range (he should be attending Overland) but I decided to keep my youngest at Vikan because I love the principal and the teachers. I only gave Vikan 4 out of five stars due to the overcrowding, which is a fault of our community, not Vikan.

Vikan Middle School staff is very professional and has challenged my 6th grader this year she strives to be a great student and gets all of the support that she needs from each of her teachers. Middle School is a very challenging time in a child's life as a parent I feel that Vikan gives their students the much needed tools and the support that they need to learn to navigate their first year of middle school. My daughter has thrived this year and we are blessed that she is surrounded by the wonderful staff at Vikan Middle School.
