I was very encouraged by my visits to Cesar Batalla School as of recent. The new principal is doing a great job in fostering partnerships with universities, organizations and families. Every time I see her, she is engaging and interacting with students and parents, always front-facing and welcoming. I can see in the classrooms that the students really enjoy what they are learning (in large part to the dedicated teachers they have!) and even though a large majority are Spanish-speaking, they do a great job providing support for their Spanish population, which is very significant to their education experience. I am looking forward to their future growth and success.

Most teachers in that school are there just because they can't get a job in their town don't care if kids fail.

I've seen some of the parents there who "supposedly care so much about their children and have so much concern"...you are an embarassment and wrongly project your anger and failures onto your children and those who try to make it better for them. I would not want to teach your children if I knew some you were their parents. Because it is evident there is a high level of neglect, irresponsibility, and lack of personal responsibility on your part as parents. It's a perpetual cycle of misinformation and societal degradation that you as parents have to realize, you are the biggest determing factor to who your child is as a person and success. I am soooo glad my parents valued education enough to realize I was just a child and they had to WORK HAND IN HAND WITH THE EDUCATORS AND TAKE EQUAL RESPONSIBILITY instead of casting blame.
