I went to Branson Public Schools from grade 3 to grade 7 and can honestly say it's the best school I've been to. Many of the people I've met there were absolutely amazing. Great community. The teachers were always fair and never seemed to be hateful. I've been to Nixa and many of the West Plains rural schools and none can compare to Branson. The school is especially great if you're into sports. Very close knit and everyone seems to help eachother when in need. Absolutely loved it. I really wish I could move back. And the people saying you won't make it if you don't have ties in the community are absolutely wrong. I had none and had the best years of my life. Love the school, the students, and staff!

We have multiple children in Branson School district. Each of the schools seems to be the same senario's. Branson school has a lot of improving to do in quality, organization, leadership, equality among the students. Some of the schools within the district didn't even make the annual yearly progress on the state testing and as parents we received a letter notifying us. The district also don't have a handbook outlining discipline which listed all the infractions that could be committed with the consequences for those infractions. Many times children with the same infractions all get different consequences. Majority of the time the consequences are based on who your parents are or what your ties are with the town. If you have ties around town there is no consequences for infractions. The school district is very clickish. The district does not address bullying concerns from parents either. This school district is in need of a lot of improvement.

In January 2011 we decided to move our family, including 4 kids, to Branson,MO from St. Louis, MO. This has been a dream come true! We had 1 in elementary, 1 in intermediate, & 2 in Jr. High. They all finished off the school year better than ever. The schools were very welcoming (teachers & students). They offered extra academic help to our kids. The kids were allowed to play sports (which costed us nothing). And my kids experienced something they never saw in St. Louis: School Spirit...which is alive & well in Branson, MO

8/10 is an UNDERSTATEMENT! I'm a 7th grader at BJHS, and this school is nothing short of amazing. There are many academic options, such as clubs, musical classes (band, jazz band, choir), and sports. The teachers work really hard to teach us as much as possible, and we do have some of the highest test scores in our section of Missouri (NWEA scores). Don't believe whoever said "Very political, if your not 'someone' in Branson, your kid doesn't have a chance... not everybody is treated equally!" that is 100% NOT TRUE! I've only been going to Branson for three years, and I have found really good/nice friends, and have been treated the same as any other student by the teachers and principal/vice principal. Nobody's treated differently, even the trouble makers. The class of 2016, the class I'm in, is one of the best that the school has had, considering the astounding amount of kids in National Junior Honor Society and honor roll. The teachers work hard, and so do the students. This has to be the best junior high school in this area of Missouri, because it's just great!
