Our son attended multiple schools, but never succeeded. Although he's very intelligent, he simply refused to do the work. Some days he refused to go. We tried restrictions, grounding, took him to years of therapy, you name it. Nothing induced him to work at school. Then we put him in Gateway. Totally different experience. It took him a while to get on board with the new program, but now he's thriving. Instead of 7 or 8 classes at a time, boys start with one or two. This focus allowed him to complete classes quicker. He could see the progress. The cadets have weekly goals. If they don't meet them, they receive sanctions, usually in the form of exercises. Our boy needed that consistency. He went in as a freshman and is now a senior. He's also in better physical shape.
