We love the Bolivar school district. My daughter is doing so well reading above her level and my son started at the early intervention center which he went from non-verbal autism to verbal in one year. they do a great job with kiddos and really care about them.

My son attended the Bolivar Head Start program and he had quality teachers and the overall excellent learning experience, so I was completely taken aback when the principle of the Bolivar Primary School misjudged a massive influx of new student enrollments and chose not to hire another Kindergarten teacher before the school year started. An entire class full of students had no teacher for the mandatory "First Parent/Teacher Meeting" and we were some of the victims of this lovely debacle. She ended up hiring a teacher that was talked into taking the position, hated teaching, disliked children and was extremely disorganized. And yes, ditto to another posters comments, pray you don't have to deal with the administration. The best words to sum them up is uneducated and inept. I pulled my son from their enrollment and home schooled him for the next 5 years. All ended well, he now attends the Bolivar Middle School, were the staff is excellent, and he is an all A Honor Roll student with perfect attendance. Too bad the admins at the Primary lost out on a head to draw funds for and to boost their horrible MAP Testing score results.

There are no gangs in this town therefore none in the school system. There are no gang members in the classes which allows the teacher more availability to teach and the students more opprortunity to learn.
