Bixby is an excellent school would very active PTO, an emphasis on curriculum, and wonderful caring teachers. My children look forward to school everyday and truly love learning.

Bixby is such a nurturing school with a huge focus on academics. Principal is very hands on and teachers are excellent. I only wish they had a playground and more traditional things like spelling bees and science fairs.

We have two kids in Bixby and have loved it since day one. The principal is excellent and all the teachers we’ve experienced have been wonderful. Our kids love school and love learning and we are so thankful they get to go here.

This school is great. I recently moved here and put my daughter in this school. She absolutly loves it and has learned so much. I do have a few complaints regarding the homework. My daughter receives 4 pages of math homework every day each page with 10 math questions, so if you think about it she gets 40 math question to complete EACH day. I still think this school is a great choice considering how nice everyone is there. And in September my 4 year old daughter will be going there.

The wonderful improvement in academic performance this year. Way to go, principal Damon Englese!!! He proved how the principal really improves school and boosts student results. and what a dedication of teachers! They care about the students in every respect. I was seriously considering to leave our town last year for better schooling. Definitely not anymore. My kids loves to go to school now & I am so grateful to stay in our town.

The previous review is absolutely ridiculous. The mid 2000's was 10 years ago! Review on the CURRENT conditions in the school. How about Principal Watts getting the teacher of the year? How about the PTA upgrading the playground with stenciled games? The town is segregated? Really? And the demographics have taken a toll? The people of Bogota are hard working families regardless of their nationality. Shame on you. People like you and your juvenile comments are part of the problem. The color of your skin and the amount of money in your account does not make you any less deserving of an an education. There is absolutely nothing wrong with our public education. Times are changing. Kids are changing. Make the adjustment.

The mid 2000 s was the last harah for this school. Bogota is not what is use to be and is gradually declining. It is very sad. For a small town with small schools, there are a lot of politics. The community is segregated and barely comes together. The shift in demographic has also taken a toll on the town and schools. If you have to go to elementary school in Bogota, St. Joesph s Academy would be the best choice. On a positive note, a new thriving 7-Eleven has opened in the town and an apartment building is being built next to St. Joseph s Church, which is on the NYC commute route. Hopefully this will attract a more professional demographic with young kids and help save Bogota s town and schools.

We originally had our children enter Kindergarten here and shortly after realized that this school is a complete nightmare. It starts from the principal right down to the class mom disasters. When we transferred our children to another school they informed us that they were severely behind academically in Kindergarten. The new school enrolled our children for extra help without any hassle and with true sincerity. I can't believe the stories I have heard from my neighbors who have been in Bogota for over 30 years regarding the same complaints we had. It clearly shows you that the Bogota School system hasn't improved; especially, with the neighboring town Ridgefield Park all BLUE RIBBON with a rate of 10s & 9. We would like for our school system to improve with caring teachers, provided better quality and more services, without the inconvenience of putting the parent and child through the run around for a great education. Allow more parent participation instead of the same parents every year. Why do they bother sending forms out? Lastly and sadly where are our tax dollars going? It sure isn't for the children.

It's all politics, when they fail, just blame the parent. The school nurse needs to be put in a padded room! I'm disgusted with this school. I heard they came in top schools too, but I think they just put the kids they couldn't teach in special services ( lable them disabled ) so they are not counted in that score, activities are extremely expensive uniforms are expensive every school meeting make sure you have your wallet with you. The PTA is going to try to hit you up. And say we bought fans for the classroom like it's something special. It's too hot for kids to be in there without air condition. This is not a great school.
