Being a part of the Rivermont community continues to be a wonderful choice for our child. They have accommodated our son’s sensitive nature and at the same time helped him grow into a confident student and friend. For us there is no other school for our son. We love the value they place on social and emotional growth especially during the last few years. The school does a phenomenal job of honoring our child as an individual while maintaining a sense of community throughout the grades. We are so impressed with how they scaffold their education and spark collaborative learning which will be essential skills for work and life. To me, providing a safe and joyful learning environment is priceless and we are confident that’s what our child receives everyday at Rivermont.

A fading gem…we loved this school, and the caring, wise teachers who worked there. Unfortunately, poor leadership and the resulting loss of many great teachers has taken its toll. Some on the administration team have lost their passion and it shows. Leadership is unprofessional and reactive. Hopefully things will improve in time.

Rivermont Collegiate is very disciplined. Close follow up of the students is a key issue for international students. I am happy that at Rivermont all directors know every student’s weaknesses and strengths and support them accordingly.

My experience at Rivermont Collegiate has been one of watching the school crumble as good teachers leave and unqualified ones replace them. The school is going to drown in debt and many people leave before middle school or before high school. There are little funds for any of the clubs and activities. Athletics have no morale and bad coaching with little population. The academics are not too challenging because we don't learn things with teachers who are not qualified to teach the class they are taking. Most AP classes are given online through Apex Ioapa which is horribly formatted and means you will basically have study halls constantly with little engagement ever. The administration doesn't know how to properly fund a school and maintain it. It seems like in the past the school was very prestigious but is literally crumbling at the foundation. The facilities are horrendous and classes are random rooms and the science lab is not up to standards. Students here are constantly pressed on being accepted to college and working to boost the school's average test scores and merit scholarships gained. It is almost like a sweatshop where we, the students, work to gain reputation for the school while also paying over $14,000 a year just to attend the school. That doesn't even count all the internal fundraising that is necessary to keep the school afloat. Expect to pay huge sums of money to the school and gain little in return except for depressed and socially inexperienced students. To anyone considering Rivermont I say, do not send your children here; run away from this depressing school and save your children their sanity and your money for counseling bills that you will end up paying for your children. This school does not deserve its collegiate status and does not have the teachers to back it up. Please save yourself the trouble and money and attend one of the much better public schools around us.

The experiences I have had with members of the Rivermont Community have been that of acceptance, openness to ideas, and overall genuine kindness. Both the academic professionals as well as the parents have a vested interest in working together to provide an experience to the students that will foster creativity, respect, and intellect. Rivermont provides the groundwork that puts students in the position to become amazing future leaders.

I have been going to Rivermont for, what, going on 12 years, and Im going to be a sophomore next year! I have been at Rivermont as long as possible. Every year is more fun and educational that the last! It is practically my home. The teachers are the nicest and brightest out there, and the students, don't even get me started. My group of friends, might as well be my family. I feel so loved! So for a child to come in to such an environment, well, its just incredible. Students make every one, and anyone, fit right in! Plus, the academics are great! Most classes are one year ahead of other schools! It may be challenging, but its worth it. I've seen our graduates go to places like Yale and Harvard, they can be accepted into almost any collage they want, which makes me feel good, because I know I will be able to succeed in almost anything I wan to with this education! As I say "Best school in town, friendliest kids around! ;)"
