This principal discriminates against special education kids and doesn't follow the state laws. She bullies special education children and parents. She doesn't follow state laws. She is cruel to kids with special needs.

I was very troubled by the principle's lack of leadership regarding the rude young girl in the front office because she never addressed my complaint. I’m not sure why the clerk felt it necessary to speak to me as if I were an obstreperous child, but she was very inappropriate. The worst part about all of this is what happened when Angela spoke to me. She completely ignored the fact that her staff lacks tact. I asked her if she had heard how the office clerk spoke to me, but she simply dismissed me by acted as if I never even asked which is very disturbing. When I told her she wasn’t even listening to me she replied by saying I wasn’t listening to her. At that point I was finished talking to her because it was obvious to me that I wasn’t dealing with an adult mentality. Seriously? I felt as if I was speaking to a child. I understand now why this school has such a low rating. It’s very disconcerting to discover that the principal would not even address the issue, as if she couldn’t care less because she never attempted to get an understanding of the situation.

Apollo is a very welcoming school. The teachers treat all students with kindness and work hard to set them up for success. I am excited about my children starting another year at Apollo, and I know that they are in good hands.

Fighting, bullying, gang violence all starting in Pre-K. Nothing is ever done about the problem and most of the kids are too scared to tell. Most of the kids come home crying and upset when they leave school as well as mine. Education is poor. Constantly dealing with kids throwing chairs; hitting teachers; school lock downs... Some of the third graders cannot even spell their own name!! Look at the schools test scores... If you live in this district I would opt for a transfer or to Homeschool. This has been a heartbreaking experience for our family and not the type of "schooling" I had expected.
