Excellent. Our son was in private school but they don’t have a nurse so we had to change schools. I am so glad we switched. Our experience with Westhills has been nothing short of amazing. I wish the kids could stay there to 12th grade.

My major concerns are based off of the dismal performance in the students' high stake's testing results the last two years. Especially, in the arena of reading proficiency. How is it even possible that the vast majority of students are performing at the lowest levels of reading proficiency across the entire district. This is evidence of a leadership issue and a curriculum discrepancy or incompatibility, such as a substandard curriculum with an limited focus on essential early learning literacy skills and not necessarily a teaching problem. 95% of the students are black, leading me to wonder if there is an issue in identifying children who are on the spectrum. Something is not quite right and the parents have a right to know their children are receiving a sub-par education which has little hope of preparing their children for a career that will support these children's dreams. I strongly suggest adocracy programs to include any non-profit devoted to improving the outcome of black youngsters take a closer look and get involve in helping to fund targeted evidence based interventions. Black lives do matter and here is a prime example of youngsters who are consistently failing through the cracks. It would appear the district is attempting to turn around all of the elementary and middle schools in Bessemer City School District, but their efforts would be greatly enhanced if a few angel investors and/or non-profits chipped in and assisted with the work that needs to be done in order to provide these youngsters with the future they so richly deserve. Will any of the few remaining black billionaires come to the side of these precious youngsters and restore their chance of a future, only time will tell.
