I am afraid to give specifics because I don’t want my child to continue to suffer or to make things worse. Teachers are verbally hostile. I know of a number of children who have developed anxiety. The district seems to have a history of students becoming sui***al. When I brought concerns about teachers to admin, they were hostile and extremely unprofessional with me. Again afraid to give specifics, but I know for a fact I am not the only one that has been bullied for speaking up. My child has never had detention or gotten in trouble so this isn’t the case where I have a kid with behavioral problems. She’s just scared because of the way she sees the adults treat kids.

The teachers are rude, and gossip about children and their families. My child is typical. They have no disability. But, his year they began to cry daily and would curl up in a ball and refuse to go into the school. They started to get sick to their stomach every day when they were feeling anxiety. Anxiety was never a problem. My child told often told me that the teachers called the kids stupid. They didn't want me to talk to the guidance counselor because they were afraid that it would make the teachers meaner. I have very good reason to believe that there is bullying but the problem is with the teachers, not the children. There are more than a few parents who confirm that the teachers are just "mean," and make fun of the kids. In fact my other, older child who is now in the high school and is usually on the honor roll, described the teachers as "mean for no reason." My child, like many other kids in that district, became suicidal. However, summer has started, and my child is now doing so much better.
