I went to this school as a sophomore in 2011 and I got expelled for something so little. But now we are in 2023 and this schools faculty does not care anymore. There is no punishments for the fights, for the drugs. There is absolutely no punishment for the bad behavior at school. These kids smoke and do drugs on campus and as a concerned parent of my child making poor decisions at school they did nothing to help me keep my kid away from it. I tried independent studies, I tried a transfer, I’ve tried talking to the dean, I’ve tried calling head of administration and nothing I get nothing. Independent studies is too full, apparently wanting to transfer my son for behavior problems isn’t a good enough reason to transfer him. They no longer have iss. The school system is a joke. When a dean can laugh in your face and say oh kids smoke here all the time. That’s a problem!

i used to go to IHS when i was a freshmen but i now go to a different school. however, i really enjoyed being at IHS! i had many opportunities there and i absolutely love how this school has a lot of school spirit! i also used to be in IHS band and the program was very good. the teachers i had were very good and i was doing very good in my grades as well :)

What really impressed me about Independence high school teachers actually cared about their students. This school has really help make a huge improvement in grades and life. They luv being in school and compared to 3 years ago my son & daughter use to bringing home C's & D's, since they started at Independence high school my son and daughter bring home A's & B's. Both my kids are involved in sports and they have been pushed further in classes from taking the college prep classes to now being in Gate, Honors and now AP classes. I really appreciate The staff at Independence high school

Wonderful school! great people amazing teachers and challenging classes. Many schools near independence and crowded, full of fights, and have low test scores, but independence really stands out in it's determination to help students prepare for a full life.

i currently am a junior here. ive been attending IHS since it first opened. I am apart of the swim team. The teachers are experienced, and/or fresh out of college. the school is nice, clean, organized, and a good learning enviorment. There is an abundance of school spirit. The sports teams are very talented for they are well coached, many of the teams have been league champions. The students are friendly, and the atmosphere is inspiring.
