The current principal Ms. Rincon is not very welcoming to the parents, staff, or students. She is always yelling at the kids in the morning and is yelling at teachers to get to their assigned posts. All teachers look worn out there and look like they don't care anymore. This school is a lot better when Mrs. Brown and Mr. Gongora were around. The Asst. Principal is very present , friendly, and you can tell staff rather talk to her then the principal. Hopeful this school turns around next year, I feel so bad for the teachers and staff under this principal.

The current principal is very stand offish. The teachers look demoralized and it looks as though it has carried over to even the students. The admin has not been helpful or communicative with parents and they have been very little done to help sped and bilingual students at this campus. If you have a choice enroll at another campus in the area until the current admin under Rincon is gone, then possibly things might begin to get better for this campus.

Oak Meadows could use some improvements when it comes to certain areas. The diversity in this school is horrible. There are about 95% hispanics, 4% black and 1% white. They are not very good at keeping you informed on events happening at the school. My child attends the afterschool program, if you need to get in contact with the staff to check on your child you can forget it. They do not answer the phones. The individual that signs you out after picking up your child does not speak very good english and can barely pronounce my childs name. I do however like the friendliness of the staff in the office. Most of the teachers seem friendly and carrying.

I love this school. Both of my children, my nephew, and cousin have gone there. The pre-k teachers are amazing, especially Mrs. Perisho and Ms. Craig. They are so patient with the kids. The principal, Mr. Gongoria is just as awesome. He knows all of the kids. He's actually active at the school. He's first in line and dressed up for the book parade. He makes sure to speak to parents every time he walks by. He's constantly high-fiving and encouraging kids. Oak Meadows is a great school!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE this school! From the minute you walk in to the campus, the office staff are friendly and welcoming! The prinicipal is quick to return emails, phone calls and/or meet with you! Not only that but our prinicpal knows probably about 90% of all the students names!!! Their afterschool program is amazing! The school is completely child friendly and welcoming. This is school is AMAZING! Every thing they do revolves around the idea of each student succeeding, both academically, culturally, emotionally, and physically. From the gardens, to the different clubs, to UIL, to the science fair, girl's scouts, you name it, there are endless opportunities for our kids to get involved. Parental participation is not only welcomed but it is encouraged. Kids are constantly praised and rewarded for their hard work. Bullying (of course happens in any environment) but at OME the entire staff is on board with their anti-bullying policy. You can't go wrong with this school!!!

My school has a robotics club, chess club and a lot of creative events. The principals are easy to talk to and the office staff are very friendly. I get a lot of good communication from them. Not too much homework.

I absolutely love Oak Meadows Elementary. The teacher involvement with both students and parents is amazing. If there are any questions that you may have the Principals are always on point to assist you. My 4th grader is very happy there. We couldn't ask for a better school. We're all SMILES!
