Good school to go to for students like me

I did encounter some bullying, but not as much as Lindley. Most teachers there are amazing. The orchestra teacher from 2022 and the male 7th grade teacher from 2022. The lunch was way better than Lindleys current n in general I’d prefer the school. The principal was direct but a little too rude. The office lady’s were good/fair to deal with. The bus times tho are a small bit iffy. Sometimes I would get home at 5:05 n then my bus was late n I got home around 6:00

This school was a horror story for my family. The principal K. Brown for 6th grade students may need more training on how to lead teachers. If you have concerns about your child being bullied or Special Needs learning, she will pretend to care but then speak to you in a sarcastic and condescending way. Under K. Browns leadership, we've had teachers ask us angrily what's wrong with our child who's Special Needs, allow kids to yell and bully our child in front of the class. When one of my kids found herself in a terrible bullying incident where her phone was taken and stomped in the bathroom, she left us feeling so helpless. This was the worst experience that we've ever had at a Cobb County public school. Please try to get approved for school choice and find a school that's better for your child!I would like to shine some light on the following staff that went above and beyond:Mr. Gibson Ms. Shavers Ms. Anderson - Assistant Principal - She should be the Head Principal.

My son comes home everyday depressed because he's bullied. I understand some of the students are a product of their environment and staff deals with a lot. But if a parent and student is constantly stating the obvious about a huge bullying problem, do not be surprised when the student explodes because of the excessive bullying. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL.

I feel as if this school is good but its kids that have troubles because they haven't been disciplined. The food a just horrible but the teachers are nice. I hate how some teachers just care about the money but they at least try they're best. The school need way more funding and need to stop overpricing things. I love this school but the school is the way it is because half of the people aren't ready for change. Prepare them for it.

I am not a fan of this school. My daughter has only completed one school year and she was miserable. She's an honor student (which they never put her in honor classes). They only give 2 report cards a year which I think is also ridiculous. The kids are rude. The teachers see and hear the boys calling the girls derogatory name and nothing is done. Bullying at this school is HIGH. My daughter hated to get up and go to school and then they had the nerve to recommend a self esteem class to her. Like really? She was getting teased because "she thinks she's cute" or "she has weave" or a certain boy took interest in her. I hate this school. If your child is honors and mature, please send them some place else.

I think Garrett is a okay school .. I've been here since the 6th grade and i've been in the advanced placement classes sine, but in sixth grade we had 3 wonderful teachers but when we were in the 7th grade they were all gone we had 3 teachers. They are still here in my 8th grade year we want them all gone they dont teach us anything , they are very rude , disrespectful and dishonest. I am looking into going to Lindley or East Cobb for the rest of my 8th grade year. im just being completely honest.

I honestly think that Garrett middle school should have some changes done to it, I don't like the way how students act during school hours and how there aren't any expectations and/ or organization. What I'm trying to figure out is why isn't there any signs in the hallway to tell where what class is where?

I would never recommend this school for anyone! I am aiming hard to have my children away from this district before the beginning of a new school year. The teachers amd some administration is very unprofessional! My child grades has slipped and his whole outlook has changed. It has been told to me that the school is flooded with drugs and gangs . The administration so busy trying to make themselves look good they make complaints and suspend the kids who are really no big threat! They should take the time and effort to find the bigger problems and correct them. They should also make some of those teachers go back and take some refresher courses maybe the students would do better academically! Don't get me wrong there are some staff who are there cause they love their jobs but there are also those who are just there for a pay check! Horrible school low grades, low budget teachers, administration and no extra curriculum activities...

This school is horrible. In sixth grade I was bullied, and when i went to the consular she did nothing. The 7th grade administrator will give you OSS (out of school suspension) for any reason (even over things she's not allowed to do). Before I came to this school I was an A/B student, now because of horrible teachers I'm now a B/C student with the occasional A..I have all advanced/gifted classes, and there are only a few high quality teachers at this school. Some of the teachers, are very disorganized, and do not know what they're teaching. There are also a lot of fights monthly. In February there were 7 fights alone. The lunch and breakfast are actually very good, but very greasy. We have a very good principal. Overall I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.I cant wait till I go to a different school for 8th grade.
