The school does an excellent job at bringing the community together with special events such as Back to School Night, School Carnival, Trunk or Treat, Family Field Day and their Culture Night. The staff really pitches in to make the students and their familes feel welcome. My kids have always had a positive experience here. We are a multicultural family and I have seen many staff members who speak spanish helping other families who need assistance. A very caring school community.

The school's community came together for Culture Night. Volunteers, families, and teachers filled the hallways with music, food, and laughter. This event brought a lot of joy to Dalton!

Horrible! The teachers are RACST and disrespectful and don’t even care.

Awful 100% awful. As I said above you are the enemy for complaining and asking someone to do something about the bullying.

Last year my son had a teacher that was swearing at him and other students in the classroom. I did report this to the principal but nothing appeared to be done about it. My son had several teachers that were sub standard and this was just one case and point.

Thank you Dalton Elementary volunteers. Dalton Elementary has a great volunteer force of parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, teachers and community members who work in our media center, crosswalk and lunch duty and work with students one on one or in small groups. Volunteers work "in-home" to help teachers with sorting, organizing and trimming projects. Dalton volunteers have time clocked the equivalent time of over 2 full time people for one year. We have one full time and two part-time community liaison corps persons who coordinate our volunteer workforce. They provide support to the Dalton Community with information to help parents and coordinate our Scholastic nights. We want to give a "shout out" to everyone. We have a fantastic PTSO group who supports our students with great events (Veteran's Day) and supports teachers during conferences and supports teachers with little things that make teachers feel appreciated. Thank you to the teachers who volunteer their time to provide Art Club, Choir Club, Bokowa, Running, Homework and Science Clubs as well as our Step Movement Team. Thank you to the teachers who sponsor our NAESP Student Council and our school safety group. Dalton Elementary is a great place to work, volunteer and attend school.

Dalton is a wonderful, community based school that offers a wide variety of oppporunities for its students and their families. The teachers are committed to providing the very best education they can for their students and the administration is responsive to parents and addresses any and all concerns immediately. Kids Corner is a great place for kids to hang out after school if childcare is needed and there are many different ways for students to become involved and develop their leadership skills. I am so lucky that my child had the opportunity to attend Dalton!

Communication is terrible! The principal is grumpy and disrespectful to students and parents. Violent acts are not attended to and are ignored. Most of the staff is incredibly rude and sarcastic. I have never felt that my children were safe at this school however we are forced because of the boundaries and lack of communication about attending a different school. The message we get as parents is that the state test scores are more important than our children.

Poor teacher/parent communication throughout school year despite efforts email/agenda. My child excelled each year until placed at Dalton. See my remarks from Kendallview & Vassar. Sons teacher ex correctional officer with little to no empathy or compassion, introverted. Being an educator to 3rd grade students troubling when your child fears his teacher and felt bored all the time. Lack of hands on teaching, lack of student understanding. Only parent teacher conferences would show graded school work despite repetitive request. Attempting to grow friendship with peers conflicted with my child following school dance addressed inappropriately by the Principle with our son. Personally witnessed young girls crying in the bathroom over boyfriends. Disgusting the encouragement of inappropriate relations in such a claimed great school. Following, peers pressured making fun of him having no girlfriend. Brought up in a Christian home, shocked the exposure and damage Dalton has had on our son. He was punished for teachings of such behavior allowed from peers! ***Recommend Vassar less than .5 miles away! Excellent educators focused excelling your childs excellence as it should be!
