Although there are done great teachers at this school, there are no AP classes being offered to high school. The resistance of the majority of the school board and the school to advanced placement classes shows a disturbing contentment with academic mediocrity. In fact, I have personally witnessed school board members arguing that AP classes are not sufficiently valuable in preparing students for college. For someone who had 4 children in the Waterloo School District (with three in high school), and who recently moved from Ohio, I can honestly say that Waterloo is a mediocre school district. I do not fault the teachers as much as I do some of the administration, particularly a few chronically myopic and inept members of the school board.
