Excellent school with excellent and caring teachers. Both our boys go there. They are known by name to everyone and are not just a number. Hope it stays part of our community for many more generations.

Such a wonderful school. The staff are so welcoming and great. My kids have learn far more than I could have expected. The facilities are very nice too! They have a spacious cafeteria and a large play ground. The gymnasium is so nice the city of sandy springs uses it to host all of their city basketball games.I could not think of a better school to send my kids to for their education.

After recently moving to Georgia, our two kids began studying at Spalding Drive last month (Aug 2024). In a short period of six weeks, the teachers, school leadership, and all staff have demonstrated that Spalding Drive is an incredible academic community. The school is academically challenging and they have made our children feel at home. The parents, PTO, and other students also deserve tremendous accolades as they have reached out to us to help with onboarding into the school. Principal Jennifer Rosenthall is an exemplary leader - one of the main reasons why the school thrives.

Spalding is a small neighborhood school that provides a welcoming environment for all students. They have excellent teachers that will help your child reach their full academic potential. My boys have been at SDE since PreK and Kindergarten, we have had an outstanding experience.

This school nestled in a neighborhood in Sandy Springs offers a top notch educational experience in a very nurturing environment. Two of my children attended Spalding and I worked at the school for 22 years. So I experienced the school when it was overcrowded and at a much smaller size. While the educational quality has always been the highest, it’s small size is it’s super power. I wish every student could experience the great educational and emotional environment that this wonderful school creates.

SDE is an amazing, supportive school. Teachers and administrators have always been communicative with us and work with us as a team to make sure our kids are getting the most out of their time at school and that we’re able to support that learning at home. The school community is very welcoming, with lots of fun family events where even the staff attend! Everybody knows everybody and staff and students alike greet my family by name at drop-off and pick-up daily. The school offers multiple options after school as well to keep kiddos busy and engaged in fun extra-curriculars. We couldn’t be happier with our time at SDE!

We have two students who are or were at Spalding and have been so impressed by the quality of academic and emotional growth our kids have seen. Under the principal’s leadership, the teachers do a phenomenal job meeting each student where they are and ensuring their growth at the years they spend in Spalding. My kids have not had bully issues because they teach respect and compassion. It’s a positive learning environment where students can feel like they belong.

Spalding Drive has been fantastic for my autistic kindergartener. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to make sure every child feels welcome and supported. We're so happy with the progress our child has made in such a caring environment!

Spalding is more than an educational institution. It is a community that fosters the academic and social/emotional development of each and every kid in the halls. The teachers learn the names of each and every child, including the Principal who learned my daughter’s name the 1st week of kindergarten. It’s a place where kids know they belong and are cared for. It’s a place where parents are involved and committed to the success of the school and all of the children. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Spalding is an exemplary example of what a successful school should look like and operate like.

The positive impact of Spalding Drive Elementary on my child's development cannot be overstated. The supportive atmosphere has fostered a love of learning and a sense of belonging. I’m an alum of Spalding class of 2018, and am about to graduate high school. Looking back at my time at Spalding, this school has prepared me for every part of my life both socially and educationally. I have taken/ am taking 11 AP classes and are in all honors as well as receiving principals list, and being a member of national honors society. I know this is because of Spalding. I learned to push myself and strive for greatness. I also received the help and encouragement I needed to be able to grow in to the student I am today. I know this is not just me, because I look around at my fellow students who also went to spalding and they are in the same position as me. Which leads me to my next point. The community at Spalding is a community every school should strive for. I have been best friends with people since Pre-k, and and standing beside them still best friends as I am preparing to graduate. Not only are the students lovely, but the teachers and staff are what makes this school truly special. There are teachers at the school that still act as a mentor to me. Spalding drive is home to the most special, caring and supportive teachers. I now nanny and babysit for many kids who go to Spalding, therefore I am able to see that the incredible environment I was able to be around is still in fact there. What an incredible school!

Spalding Drive is a great school. The principal, teachers, and staff really do have these kids best interest at heart when it comes to their education and well-being. My son loves his teachers and enjoys learning because they make learning fun for him. But it’s not just the teachers that make it great; the parents are just as involved and willing to help the school where they can. It’s an amazing community.

I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Spalding Drive Elementary! The principal goes above and beyond to get to know all the kids in every class, creating a welcoming and friendly environment. The students even ask to have lunch with her, which shows how much they enjoy being around her. The school truly feels like a family.Spalding Drive meets state standards and offers unique programs that set it apart from other schools. My daughter enjoys going to school daily and always talks about how much she loves her teachers. When she's happy, I'm delighted we found this school.The organization at Spalding Drive is top-notch, and I couldn’t be more pleased with our decision to join this wonderful community!

We have been very happy with our experience at Spalding. We love the parent and teacher community. A few of the teachers, including Ms. Rosenthal, have been very kind to our daughters. The class sizes are generally reasonable/small (18-22) and the students are made to feel important/valuable. We highly recommend Spalding Drive! It's one of the best/top schools in the area-- consistently scoring well in Math and English. At last check, Spalding Drive was ranked in the top 10% (actually, appx. top 7%) of Georgia public elementary schools by U.S. News & World Report!

I have had 2 kids with different learning needs and styles go through SDE and loved it. The school is an intimate and nurturing space that brings the whole community together. We moved back to the neighborhood specifically for the close community that was built on the foundation of SDE. My kids are in High School now and as with almost all of the grades, continue to remain close to all that attended Spalding Drive Elementary. The data alone shows how wonderful the opportunities are, and the teachers are outstanding. SDE is consistently at or near the top of the list of all schools in Sandy Springs. My kids will always have a close knit community to lean back on, as the family engagement is remarkable and we wouldn’t change it for the world.
