We have two children at E. Rivers and a third attending next year. It is a fabulous school, with an excellent and committed principal and extremely supportive community. Most importantly, kids enjoy and look forward to school and feel safe and supported. As parents, we do not have to worry about our kids; they are cared for, nurtured, and getting prepared for their bright futures. The curriculum is balanced and develops the "whole child," encouraging not just academic achievement but developing well rounded kids. This is an A+ school.

We have sent 4 kids to this school and would not be anywhere else! The principal lives in our district. He is passionate and provides excellent leadership for our faculty, so much so that APS recruited him to help at a higher level but he wanted to stay with our kids! The teachers are passionate and go above and beyond in supporting students. We love the diversity and inclusivity in our school where all students have something to offer and everyone can work and learn together. Our facilities are top of the line with a newer building and incredible parental involvement helps fill in any gaps and provides additional funding for special projects. It truly is a family and a community for everyone can feel at home, learn and grow.

All four of my children have attended E Rivers, and we have had the best experience! The teachers and staff are supportive, engaging, and wise. The community of families is fun and enthusiastic. My kids got a challenging and creative educational experience. And overall, we couldn't imagine being anywhere else!

E. Rivers is a special place with wonderful teachers and a loving staff. The children love coming to school here. I believe its one of Atlanta's best kept secrets. My son has been through 1st grade through 3rd grade so far, and my daughter went to prek and kindergarten at E. Rivers. Even during covid the teachers did a great job teaching these kids under difficult circumstances. The diversity the school represents is beautiful! This year they even had a child with down syndrome in kindergarten with my daughter. E. Rivers has become a family we love.

My family has loved this school! My son attended 4th and is now finishing up 5th. He has had wonderful teachers. Staff has been great as well. Lots of fun activities year round and special events especially for 5th graders to make their last elementary school year amazing! Highly recommend.

Prior to Covid, E Rivers was one of the best elementary schools in the NA Cluster. When moving to the city from the suburbs, we specifically targeted this school district, seeing it as a great long term option (Elementary through High). Unfortunately, due to a severe lack of disciplinary actions against bullying, administrative turnover, teacher burn-out, high rate of retiring and the exit of tenured educators- coupled with poor hiring standards and lack of effective administration, the school has rapidly degraded post Covid. My children attended the school for many years, and due to poor teaching standards and bullying/ physical violence that was not addressed, we’ve made the financially painful choice of enrolling in a private school. If your child is getting good grades and is generally well behaved at school, they will be deprioritized as the teachers spend their day yelling at children with severe discipline issues. While some of the teachers are amazing (it’s a gamble to see where your child is placed), or unless you are joining the dual immersion program, I’d be hesitant to send my child here. I’m saddened to have seen what was a great community of educators and families deteriorate so rapidly.

This is our family's 10th year at E. Rivers. We love the nurturing community feel, but also love that our kids were well prepared for Middle School and beyond.

Overall, good. But I worry about security after the Parkland tragedy. There is no security officer anywhere near the front entrance. Between 7:30am and 8:00am, anybody can roam right through the front door without being questioned.

Our son attends. Last year we were super impressed with E Rivers - especially his teacher. This year E Rivers seems like a different school. His grades are lower, he doesn't understand homework, he was switched to a different class in September due to overcrowding or imbalanced classes (?). We'll wait and see if things make a 'u-turn' or not. If no change for better, then we'll reconsider private schooling.

My years in E. Rivers were some of the best years of my life. E. Rivers is an amazing school. The French program as well as the challenge program are fantastic! The school is also a wonderful community. The whole student body as well as parent body is very tight knit and diverse. If I were trying to find a school for my child, I would choose E.Rivers!

Our daughter went to Rivers for 5 years, love the staff and it is truly a neighborhood school. She had some amazing teachers and the principal knew her by her first name, which is different than my experience at Sara Smith right now. My education experience at Rivers is on par or exceeds what I have now at Sara Smith.

We love this school. The community is warm and enthusiastic, the teachers and administrators are focused on giving all the students the best education and experience possible, and the kids are wonderful individuals, each unique and appreciated for who he or she is.

We have 3 children at E. Rivers, and our oldest will graduate this year. We were sold on E. Rivers after talking to other parents in our neighborhood, many of whom sent their oldest to private schools and now wish they had started them all at E. Rivers. It was the best decision we ever made. The quality of education is excellent. Our children have have developed a love for learning thanks to the incredibly talented teachers, most of which hold advanced degrees. The Principal, Matt Rogers, has done an excellent job ensuring only the very best teachers get hired. He gets it! Also, the new building is going to be state-of-the-art. We're lucky to have such a wonderful neighborhood school!

We have two daughters at E Rivers. We love the community, administration, and staff there. Both of our kids are thriving and we have been very impressed with the quality of the instructors. They are very enthusiastic about school and learning. The parent involvement and support is amazing. This school will only get better, particularly after the new campus is completed.
